It's Thanksgiving, and Alexandra frets to Edward that she hasn't heard anything from Luke yet and she is bored. She calls Luke and asks him to come over. She asks him to stay, he says she didn't ask she ordered and that is a sure way for him not to agree. As he shares a drink with the Quartermaine's, Lila asks Luke about his summer adventure. Edward praises Luke for getting rid of Frank Smith. Luke says he used a divide and conquer approach as there was a lot of money involved and he played on their greed. Luke and Laura see each other across the park. Back to Spencer's house, Luke tells Bobbie about his morning at the Quartermaine's and that it would be nice to have that kind of life on the hill. She says he isn't missing material things that he is thinking about seeing Laura at the park earlier that day. The Webbers and their guests arrive back at their house, a somber Laura stares at the phone. Laura decides to call Luke but gets a busy signal as he is also trying to call her at that moment. The Spencers sit down to dinner, Ruby insists that they give thanks for all of their blessings, Frank being in jail and having Luke back safe and sound. Luke says the best part of coming home is being with his family. He says all he needs is the turkey and his family. Bobbie says baloney that he should go over and call Laura so they can enjoy their dinner in peace!  The Webbers get ready to go into dinner, the phone rings and Laura answers it to hear Luke on the line. They are both pleased with that brief contact.

New Scenes  from :45 mins - Laura gets a job at ELQ. Luke rents Corky from Mike to aid in his search for the Afghan hounds. Laura gets a job at ELQ. Luke takes Corky to the airport kennels to see if they have any Afghans being boarded. Luke questions Alex about how dangerous of a situation they are in? She denies there is any danger but he wants to know who has been following her? She denies it is anything to worry about and says she just ducked into the disco to get a drink. He walks her out and as he is trying to hail a cab, he sees someone lurking in wait. He ushers her inside and later offers to drive Alex home.

(Robert first appears 1 hr 40 mins) Luke returns home to his apartment and finds Robert Scorpio waiting for him with a gun trained on him. Robert sternly warns him not to make any sudden moves. Luke thinks he is with Frank Smith's organization and assures him he does not have the black book that the cops have it. Luke thinks that Robert is there to kill him on behalf of the mob. Robert doesn't know or care anything about the black book, he wants to know where the Ice Princess is. Luke suddenly understands that he has stepped into another mess as Robert threathens him, he tells him he doesn't want to kill him but he will!

Alex calls Luke and is concerned when Robert answers the phone which convinces Robert that Luke is involved in this caper. Alex tells Edward she is worried as she believes this is the same man who has been following her. Robert questions Luke who is cagey and doesn't give up much information, though he offers to work a deal with Robert. Luke doesn't know anything about the Ice Princess at this point (including what it is or where it is) so he fishes trying to get Robert to clue him in by telling him what he wants to know. Robert is sure since Luke is working for Alex that he knows all and demands the information. Luke offers information for a price but Robert quickly sees through it and realizes Luke is bluffing. He observes that he believes the Quartermaines have kept Luke totally in the dark. Robert pulls out his gun and Luke tries to jump him, Robert's partner comes in and hits Luke over the head and knocks him out.

Luke wakes up the next morning with a throbbing head. Joe Kelly stops by and wonders what Luke has gotten himself into this time! An irate Luke shows up at ELQ demanding answers from Edward and Alex. Luke tells them that he was followed all day yesterday and he is tired of Alex lying to him as she told him there wasn't any danger and she wasn't being followed. He tells them what happened when he returned home last night, he is mad as hell, he has had it and he quits! He tells them that he stared down the barrel the strangers gun, with his steely blue eyes and his accent.

Alex pretends that she doesn't know who it was, and Luke knows that she is lying again as the guy only wanted to know about the Ice Princess and he knew all abut Alex. Alex and Edward are sorry that he was hurt but declare they don't know anything about an Ice Princess and what happened last night had nothing to do with him working for them. Luke storms out, and Alex observes that it was the deadly Scorpio who paid Luke a visit last night. This insures that Scorpio and the cartel he works for don't have the Ice Princess.

Laura overhears how much danger he is in and desperately searchs for Luke to try to warn him, she finally finds him at his new apartment. As Luke looks out his apartment window, he sees a man watching his apartment. Luke confronts Edward and Alex about what exactly he is involved with. They give him some story about an African diamond mine and a vicious boundary dispute. A Cassadine henchmen begins work at the Q's as a butler. Luke visits Hutch and they reminscent, complete with LHB flashbacks.

Hutch loves seeing Luke and Laura together and asks when they are getting married? They allow him to believe that they are together and say they are going to save money before getting married. Hutch assumes they are living together, and they play that off that it's a square town and wouldn't be appropriate with their families being Alex receives a rattlesnake in a package delivered to ELQ; fortunately Luke determines that the snake has been defanged.  But Luke takes it as a warning and believes that Alex is associating with some dangerous people. Luke working at Kelly's, Laura, comes in. Laura comments that this New Year's is going to be a lot different than last year's but she prefers the changes. She questions him whether he will be spending it with Alex? At midnight, Alex kisses Luke while Laura looks on. As "Auld Lang Syn" plays, Luke and Laura tell each other "Happy New Year's". Luke leans in to kiss her on the check, she puts her hand up to the side of his face and pulls him towards her lips and they indulge in a lingering, passionate New Year's kiss. there.

Luke checks with Dan Rooney and he verifies that the Quartermaines have a diamond mine called the Ice Princess and they have had it since the turn of the century. Laura and Leslie go to the Floating Rib for lunch, they run into Luke and Alex. Alex makes it sound like her and Luke are on a date, and he reams her for it after they go to sit at the bar. One of the Cassidine henchmen, questions Dan about the background of some of the guests on the pretext that some of them may have to leave the party early as they are on call for the hospital and Dan says that Luke doesn't work for the hospital that he works for Edward.

Laura complains to the landlady about the neighbor upstairs (Luke) playing loud music. The landlady reports that tenant has also complained about her running the water late at night for long periods of time. Luke sits on the stairs and waits for Alex who he knows has followed him home. He tells her he knows what she wants and she isn't going to get it tonight as business and pleasure don't mix and he sends her away. Luke shows up at ELQ for his paycheck.

Edward entices Luke with his own private office and a fulltime job offer with ELQ, stock options, ect. He succeeds and Luke accepts the job on a trial basis. Luke tries to tweak Laura by trying to get her to take a letter in dictation, she refuses saying she doesn't know shorthand. He then requests a cup of coffee and points out that Edward said she was available for tasks and to run errands.

Laura comes home to find her neighbor blasting music again, annoyed, she bangs on the ceiling with a broom. Luke comes down to confront the neighbor and he is shocked to find out its Laura! The landlady cracks up as she recognized them from the newspaper and has known who they are to each other all along but now warns them that she won't tolerate any hanky panky. Laura has called a cab to get to the Quartermaine Christmas party. Luke pays the cabbie $15 to say that he had a flat tire. Luke gallantly offers to give her a ride to the party. They create quite a stir when they walk in together.

The Cassidine henchman searches the basement during the party. Alex has recognized him and follows him down there, he scares her as he charges her, she runs screaming and he escapes. Luke is even more suspicious about what the Q's are involved in. He insists on seeing Laura home safely and has his first experience with her sticky door. She apologizes that she doesn't have anything to offer him to drink and he whips out the bottle of champagne that he lifted from the Q party. They toast Christmas together and he comments on the coincidences of them living and working in the same buildings together and asks if she thinks Fate is trying to tell them something?

The next morning, Luke offers to take Laura to work. She assures him she won't be imposing on him for rides just because they are living in the same building. He points out that he offered, and carpooling is good for the environment and she can help pay for gas. They both laugh about her Charlie Brown Christmas tree. The Cassidine henchman calls Alex and warns her that he knows she has the Ice Princess and the Cassidines will stop at nothing to get it back! He talks to a cohort and observes that Luke and Laura are working for Alex and given their history of bringing down Frank Smith, wonders if they are secret agents. He wants them watched every second. Alex tells Luke that she recognized the guys as the Cassidine butler.

Luke and Laura agree to bury the hatchet for Christmas and go visit Hutch together and bring him presents. Monica asks Hutch to lead the Christmas caroling for the GH party. Luke calls the employment agency who sent the butler and is informed that the Quartermaine's didn't use their services as they had cancelled the party. Luke realizes there is way too much intrigue going on for just some papers. He also tells Alex that he and Laura were followed all day.

Luke and Laura arrive at GH for the annual Christmas party, Hutch plays the guitar, and Steve tells the Christmas story. Hutch is touched, as he had never heard the story before, his father had told him Christmas was made up by the merchants. Luke talks to Hutch about believing in miracles and Hutch admits he could use one right about now. Later, Luke walks by as Laura is pounding on her stuck door, trying to get it open. He provides assistance, collides with her, and she winds up in his arms.

Alex receives a rattlesnake in a package delivered to ELQ; fortunately Luke determines that the snake has been defanged.  But Luke takes it as a warning and believes that Alex is associating with some dangerous people. Luke working at Kelly's, Laura, comes in. He wants Laura to quit working at ELQ as he thinks it has become too dangerous.  She insists that he is the one who should quit, after he had his apartment ransacked and hit over the head, that he is the one in danger.

Luke & Laura #6F - (E#16)  mid January - early Feb, 1981 - 4 hours

Robert arrives home to find Luke waiting in the dark for him, with a gun drawn on Robert. Robert tells him he regrets having Luke knocked out the other night as he has a distaste for violence but he moves in a violent circle of people. Robert assures him there was nothing personal, he had to toss Luke's apartment while looking for the information he sought. Luke wants to know what the hell the Ice Princess is as he has figured out it sure isn't a diamond mine! When Robert tries to work his way over to his liquour cabinet, Luke growls at him to sit down. Robert condesends that Luke is third rate and insinuating that he is out of his league.

Robert doesn't believe Luke is capable of killing him, and asks him if he has ever killed anyone before? Robert tells him that the Ice Princess can turn the world upside down and whoever possesses it will be King and Robert intends that it be him! Luke calls Robert, "Robert Xavier Scorpio" impressing Robert that Luke had unearthed his middle name. Robert tells Luke they have both been lied to but he suspects that Alex is better at lying than at anything else. Neither Luke nor Robert trust each other though Luke puts down his gun and they decide to share a brandy. Luke brings up Dan Rooney and Robert admits he ran across him a feel years ago in Australia and Dan made the mistake of underestimating him during a business deal. Robert is tired of Luke's fence sitting and wants to know if he will work with Robert? Luke tells him he is currently on the ELQ payroll supposedly working on the Ice Princess diamond mine but he is actually looking for the Cassidines. Robert admits he is also looking for the Cassidines but they aren't easy to find, he causually sets his brandy down near the gun but Luke anticipates him and grabs the gun. Robert wants to know what the Quartermaines are paying him? Robert finds it interesting that Alex wants Luke to find the Cassidines as she is the one who stole the Ice Princess from them!

At that moment, Alex tells Edward that they are losing control of Luke and she doesn't like how comfortable Robert felt strolling into ELQ to leave her a message. Alex wants to know if Luke will sell out to Robert? Edward isn't sure. Robert continues to make overtures about Luke working with him, then tries to throw his drink in Luke's face, but Luke returns the favor by knocking Robert out.

Luke questions Alex and Edward again about what exactly the Ice Princess is and when a cagey Edward refuses to answer him, Luke quits again! Later that night, Robert arrives at ELQ looking for Luke and finds Laura there alone. He is eager to get in touch with Luke and his tone worries Laura and she wants to know if Luke is in danger? He tells her they are all in danger. He offers to take her home.

Back at Laura's, Robert isn't feeling well and admits he got hit over the head and is feeling a bit dizzy. Laura insists on calling her father and Rick offers to come over and take a look at her new friend. While waiting for Ric, Laura questions Robert on his supposed friendship with Luke and  when she doesn't' like his answers, she accuses him of lying. Rick arrives and believes Robert will be fine but tells him to take a cab home and not drive. When she questions him about his injury, he tells her that he got hit with a telephone but doesn't go into any further details.

Luke runs into Rick outside of Laura's apartment, he tells him that he is living upstairs. Rick calls Laura later; worried now that he knows that Luke is living upstairs, and worried about the strange man he left her with. She assures him she is fine. Luke comes to the door; she wants to know what he wants? He wants to talk to her. Her door sticks again, and he struggles to push it open and she winds up in his arms again (this door sure comes in handy!). Luke tells Laura that he ran into her father and told him that he is living upstairs. He reports that Rick wasn't too happy.

Luke also notices that Laura is more independent, not as concerned with what other people think. Luke pumps her for info on the "friend" who drove her home (not knowing it was Robert). He then starts asking why Rick had his medical bag with him? Laura says she had a friend over and he wasn't feeling well so Rick came by to check him out. Luke immediately picks up on her friend is male, and questions, "He"? Laura asks if he thought her life would stop just because he rejected her? He says she has that backwards (meaning that she rejected him). She says every so often a guy will look her way, and she is curious that surprises him? He says that he isn't surprised that he has been looking her way for years. He asks for another cup of coffee and she refuses saying it's late and she needs to get to bed.

The next day, Robert arrives at ELQ again and wants to know how he can pay Rick for his visit. Laura suggest he can make a donation to his waterfront clinic. Alex comes in and Robert invites her out to dinner. Luke calls in and tells Alex they have to talk as he suspects Robert maybe working with the Cassidines. Luke asks her to meet him for dinner so they can discuss it, he wants more answers. Laura listens in and hears the details of their plans.

Robert calls Laura and asks her for dinner. She agrees as long as they can make it for that night and she suggests the Versaille Room (where Luke and Alex are going). He tells her he can't make it as he has a business meeting with Alex but seems relieved when Laura tells him Alex won't be able to make it due to a business complication. Robert is more than happy to ditch business to enjoy an evening with Laura.

Luke finds it very interesting when he and Alex arrive and find Robert and Laura dining there as well.  Laura pretends it's a coincidence, Luke isn't buying it. Luke and Alex wind up joining them. Later in the evening, Luke slips their waiter some money and as soon as Alex goes to the bathroom, Robert gets called away to the phone leaving Luke and Laura alone together. Luke grills Laura about what she is doing with Robert. He asks her, "What are you doing with this guy? He carries a gun! He likes to smack people over the head with it!" (Referring to Robert bopping him on the head at his apartment the first time they meet.) When he makes a comment about Robert being a Scorpion, she comments that he is the one in danger of being stung by Alex! Luke warns her further, "This guy could be a killer!" Laura responds, "So...some of my best friends have been killers. Look at Hutch!"

Laura asks him about he knows about the Ice Princess? He is shocked that she knows about that. She tells him she overheard Alex and Robert talking about it. He is even more shocked to learn that Robert is talking to Alex about. Laura surmises that the Ice Princess is at the heart of the danger Luke has been involved in, and he and Robert have been beating each other up over it. He questions why she let Robert in her apartment. She explains that he showed up at her door hurt and she let him in and called her father, that at the time she didn't know that Luke had been the one who had hit him. He demands that she not do anything like that again! She tells him he can't tell her who she can or can't see! He tells her to get off his back about Alex. She then interrogates him whether his relationship with Alex is more than just business. He accuses her of being jealous. He warns her to keep out of trouble and get rid of the Australian insect that he is dangerous. She points out that she goes for dangerous men, why does he think she hung around him all summer?

Robert returns and tells Luke that he has monopolized enough of "his lady's" time this evening. Luke questions when did Laura become Robert's lady? Robert says she is his lady for the evening, and asks Luke if he has a date with the wrong woman? Alex rejoins them, and during conversation, Robert comments about wishing he could show Laura Australia. Luke looks ill at the thought. Slick shows up and tells Luke that Robert carries a gun, as there have been attempts on his life. Slick reports that Robert doesn't have a criminal record, no violence but someone is willing to pay big bucks to have Robert killed.

Next, the foursome are dancing at the disco and Robert is introduced to Amy, Brian and Claudia. Robert and Luke go back to Robert's to continue their negotiations. Robert offers Luke $50,000 to bring him the Ice Princess but warns him no more games, no more playing him against Alex.

Laura receives two dozen roses and finds a card that says, "I can't wait to see you again. Robert." He soon arrives and she thanks him for the flowers, he tells her he meant what he wrote on the card. He goes to the hospital with her when she visits Hutch before he is moved to prison. While he is waiting, Luke arrives and runs into Robert who tells him that he is waiting for a friend. Robert asks him if he has given any further thought to his business proposition. Luke tells him he has to make a phone call and still doesn't commit. Luke looks almost ill when he realizes that Laura is with Robert.

Laura promises Hutch that they won't lose touch as they have too many memories from last summer. Burt Ramsey is there as well and he is rather amazed that they can remain friends. Luke comes in, dressed up and Hutch asks if they are going out together? Luke says sure. Hutch says that knowing they are together and happy means a lot to him. They don't have the heart to tell him that they have split up. Luke runs into Robert again in the hallway, and Robert asks if Luke has given any consideration to his proposition for working together that he thinks they will be a formidable team. Luke says he will give him an answer soon, maybe later that evening. Laura comes up to them and when Robert asks if she is ready to leave, Luke looks ill again (he just realized that Laura is the friend that Robert is waiting for).

Luke goes to see Edward, and Alex at ELQ headquarters. Luke calls their bluff and tells them he found the boundary papers that they were searching for. He gets no reaction from them; they obviously aren't thrilled as they really weren't looking for any such papers (it was just a cover story for what the Ice Princess really is). Luke confronts them about their lying. Edward agrees to tell Luke what the Ice Princess really is. He tells Luke that it is a priceless statue. They explain that Alex shipped it to PC that they know it made it as far as Port Charles but then it was stolen. Since both Robert and Cassidines are also looking for it and there have been some thefts on the docks, Alex tells him that the thief probably has no idea of its real value. Edward shocks Luke with the info that it is the world's largest diamond. He brags that it makes the Star of India look like a pebble. Luke is annoyed that they haven't told him the truth before now. Edward says they had to be sure they could trust him. Luke tells them that this just got much more interesting, but his price just went up from a $5,000 finder's fee to $50,000!

Robert takes Laura back to his penthouse and offers her a brandy as a storm rages outside. He invites her to sit on the couch and as she seems nervous, he promises he won't attack her not without warning anyway! He bluntly tells her they are dating each other as they both want information. He asks her what she wants to know? She asks him about his work, Australia? He in turn asks her about Luke and tells her that he wants to know all about Luke Spencer as he is thinking about hiring him and forming a partnership with him. He asks if Luke is honest and Laura says that yes he is very honest. They continue to dance around each other's questions, neither really gaining much information from the other. Robert admires her as he is usually a bit more adept at getting information out of people. They agree to get together again to match their skills further.

Luke shows up at ELQ after being missing in action for a couple of days. He gets tired of everyone questioning him as to where he has been and warns Alex and Edward to back off. Robert shows up at ELQ to pick up Laura for dinner and Luke stares daggers at him. Robert is curious why Luke turned down his offer to work with him, as he knows he offered Luke more money. Luke says it isn't all about the money. Robert realizes that Luke is jealous over him dating Laura. He tells Robert that he has chosen to see through this job for the Quartermaines. Robert is puzzled why he would continue to work for the Q's and figures that Luke is staying there because of Laura. Robert observes that it gets up Luke's nose that he has been dating Laura. Luke bluffs that Laura's social life is her own business. Robert says that's good as he has enjoyed the time he has spent with Laura enourmously and its going to continue.

Robert raves that Laura is intelligent, beautiful and that they are sympatico. Luke snarks, "Congratulations, sounds like you have a dinner date made in heaven." (knowing full well that Laura is going to break her date with Robert to be with Luke that night). Robert wonders why Luke is hanging around? Luke says that he is waiting for Laura as they carpool together. Robert assures him that Laura won't be going with Luke tonight as she has a date with Robert. Luke smugly comments that he recalls Laura indicating that there might be a problem with that and Robert might have to be simpatico with himself that night. Robert insists on waiting for Laura.

Laura enters and does not contradict Luke but apologizes profusely to Robert for forgetting that she had made previous plans with Luke, and explains it's a business meeting. Luke takes her home and apologizes for coming on so strong against her having a relationship with Robert. He asks if she is "involved" with Robert? She says they go out to dinner together, and it cuts her weekly costs. She wants to know why he ruined her evening with Robert? He says he wanted to talk to her privately and he wouldn't have interfered in her private life if it wasn't important. He is worried about her. He has a strong feeling that they are both being used by the Quartermaines. He asks her again to quit her job. He tells her he has uncovered "something" and he thinks things are going to get "messy". She says no that she needs this job.

He asks her if she still wants to out to dinner? She responds that she is hungry and they both realize that people will talk but neither see to care. He says that Scorpio won't make a good father as his kids will be either called "Scorp" or "Kangaroo Breath"! He tells her that he needs her for one important thing only. She earnestly promises, "anything you want!"  He wants her to move back home with her mother and quit her job. She refuses once again. She observes that she knows he is worried about her and asks him to admit to his honest feelings. He admits to caring about her a little, and in return she admits caring a little. He accuses her of messing with his head that he can't handle the thought of her with Robert, that he is a man of the world. She says she can handle herself just fine.

Robert stops by the clinic for his checkup and insists on making a donation. Leslie and Rick play the concerned parents over his dating Laura and bring up her association with Luke the previous summer. Robert comments they must have been proud of Luke for bringing down Frank Smith's organization and Rick snarks that the jury is still out on Luke Spencer. Robert promises to go slow with Laura trying to assure them he isn't out to hurt her.

They finally go out to dinner; it's their first date since Beecher's Corners. Heads turn as they enter the restaurant. He watches Laura to see how she reacts to the public reaction. He seems impressed when she calmly shrugs it off. She asks if he minds people staring? He says he has been stared at for a lot of things and being stared at because he is with a beautiful woman is easy. She tells him that she wants to talk about their relationship. She has him trapped; he can't run off in the middle of the restaurant.  She tells him she is sorry for hurting him that day at the police station, that she hates herself for doing it that she acted like a child that day. She acknowledges that she practically destroyed the relationship between them. She tells them that she just couldn't face everyone knowing that they had made love in Beecher's Corners, just like they made love the night she cried rape. She says that everyone knew when they saw her and Luke together at the police station that Luke hadn't raped Laura and she just couldn't face having everyone know she lied about that night at the disco (the writer's have firmly done a 360 in this storyline by this point).

Later, Luke walks her to the door. She tells him that even though she threw away the cigar band that she didn't throw away what it meant. He is confused, not sure what to do next. He tells her that she has been an obsession with him for years. He tells her he has loved her that he didn't know it was possible for him to love her as much as he did. He says he loved her too much, to the point of obsession, so much that there was nothing else left in his life, that kind of love would destroy him. She cries that he is just going to throw it away? He doesn't want to give up on them, but says the time isn't right for them now but he hopes that maybe someday it will be right for them. Laura worries that what if it is never right for them? He tells her then they would still have had the most beautiful summer that two people every had. He tells her he just wants to grab her and hold her and kiss her good night. Laura believes they made progress, she tells him she will wait till he gets over his hurt. He hints that he gets over his wounds real fast! Then they have a teasingly soft merest brush of the lips.

Luke returns home and finds Robert waiting for him again. Luke is not happy to find him waiting uninvited and he really doesn't like Robert dragging Laura into the muck of the Ice Princess deal. Robert urges him to work for Robert and together they can protect Laura. Luke tells him to get out, Robert says Luke is a tiresome fellow and he has backed the wrong team and may leave to regret it or worse, die to regret it!

Robert shows up at Kelly's the next day, and Luke is not happy to see him again. Joe tells him that Burt Ramsey is on his way over to meet with Luke as he requested. Luke is not happy about this as he doesn't want to talk to Burt with “snake eyes” sitting over there. They go back to Burt's office, and Luke asks him about theft of docks shipments and tells him that the Quartermaines had part of an art shipment stolen. Burt confirms this and says they reported four crates were stolen and Luke realizes that the Ice Princess was in one of them. Robert follows Luke as he tracks this down.

Luke talks to a guy down at the docks, and arranges to meet with him later. Robert stops by and pretends to be an insurance guy and then tries to bribe him for more information. He immediately knows something is fishy as insurance companies don't go around paying out money. He calls off the meeting with Luke getting spooked. Joe knows the guy and intercedes and vouches for Luke and arranges for the meeting to take place. Luke asks him to describe the insurance agent and its obvious its Robert.

Robert continues to follow Luke, and Luke sneaks up behind him on the docks later on.  Luke tells Robert that he overplayed his hand today, that Robert can't go around bribing people on the docks. Robert admits he learned something today. Luke tells him he knows Robert was following him around all day and he could have lost him any time he wanted to. He invites Robert to join him for a beer at Kelly's, as he knows Robert will follow him there anyway!

Bobbie confronts Laura and tells her she is poison for Luke. Bobbie swears she will never forget everything that Laura has done to her and to Luke. Bobbie swears that Laura has destroyed every man she has every loved, Roy, Scotty, Luke. Laura throws Bobbie's own past back in her face and refuses to get out of Luke's life. Bobbie insists that then Laura to go Luke and settle it with him that if she feels that way to tell Luke that she loves him or get out as she is tearing him apart with her little girl games. Laura says it will always be Luke no matter how much they hurt each other. Laura tells Bobbie that she can forget trying to tell her to back off that when it comes to Luke that Bobbie can back off, as Laura will walk right over Bobbie.

Luke & Laura #6G - (E#17) February, 1981 - 4 hrs

Luke and Slick meet at Kelly's; Luke wants Slick to go pick up the mink coats that he gave to Bobbie and Ruby as a setup to contact with Benny, the fence. Laura finds Luke working at Kelly's and is surprised that he is still working there with his job at ELQ? He tries to tell her that Rose was very kind to him when he needed a job. She continues to question him, and he says that he also picks up tips while working at Kelly's that helps him in his other job. She is concerned that he is having money troubles as she knows about him hocking the mink coats? She asks if he is in trouble, has gotten involved in gambling or something? He insists that everything is fine that while he is doesn't have a lot money that he isn't in financial trouble, and claims he is just having the mink coats cleaned.

Robert shows up at Laura's with more roses and tells her that Luke has a meeting and offers to drive her to work.  Laura knocks on Luke's door to find out if they are car-pooling that morning? She notices he has someone there (it's Benny) and Luke gives her the brush off and tells her to go with Robert and to keep the Australian busy so that Luke can do his business. Luke has tracked the stolen goods to Benny the fence and is meeting with him.  Laura tells Robert  that she would like to stop at GH to say good morning to her parents and then invites Robert to go out to breakfast with her so as to prevent him from following Luke around.

Robert indulges her though later in the day as she is satisfied for keeping him busy, he teases her about her need to give her folks a kiss and a hug to start her day, and all the friends she introduced him to and wanted to invite to breakfast and its too bad that there weren't more of her friends in the lobby. He tells her he spent the day with her because he wanted to, and he had no intention of following Luke that day as he preferred being with her so he had his associate tail Luke! The associate meets with Robert and tells him about Luke meeting with Benny the fence at the warehouse, that he went in with mink coats and came out empty handed. Robert knows that Luke didn't get what he was after so he can still lead Robert to it.

When she sees Luke at ELQ she starts questioning what he was doing this morning with the mink coats? He tells her he sold the coats but is trying to get information. She tells him that Robert made a point of telling her that his partner was following Luke, so his effort to get Robert out the picture didn't matter. She warns him that Alex is using him and he is going to wind up on the run for his life like last summer! He asks if she has heard from Scotty yet? She says no that he is still in Mexico and she expects to hear from him when Scotty wants the divorce. She is off to lunch with Robert.

Another day, Laura shows up at Kelly's for lunch. Luke warns her that he is meeting with someone about getting the mink coats back and tells her he will have to pretend he doesn't know her. She offers to help him if he needs Lucy Johnson for a day, no strings attached. He takes her up on it and asks her if she can get a date with the Kangaroo Man that she is so found of for tomorrow night? She is sure she can, and he tells her it's very important that she has to be sure. She seems confident in her ability and promises to do so. Luke is annoyed when Benny tells him he doesn't have any security on the warehouse.

The next morning, Laura shows up at Luke's for their morning carpool. Luke takes a look outside and notices Robert outside watching the building. He says he can't have anyone following him today. Laura says she has already helped him once without knowing what is going on and that is her limit. A moment later, Luke is asking her to distract Robert as Luke plans on sneaking into some waterfront warehouses. Luke sneaks out by helping some neighbors move a couch while Laura distracts Robert. He asks her where Luke is and whether they are carpooling this morning? She says no they aren't and he offers to drive her but says he would like to go upstairs and make sure that Luke isn't still upstairs. Luke meets with Benny and accuses him of trying to double cross him, of trying to heist the truck of furs. Luke insists that he get back the two samples (the mink coats), and he will give Benny back his $1,000 and the deal is off (sounds like an elaborate plot to check out the warehouse security).

Luke shows up at Laura's later on, and when he pushes again to help open the door, she once again winds up in his arms. He comments that he is starting to like that door of hers. He asks if she greets all of her gentleman callers like that? She says no, just her chauffeur. She wants to know why he wasn't there to drive her home from work? He says he had to get the mink coats back to Ruby and Bobbie. She then questions what he is up to that night? She reminds him that she doesn't like being kept in the dark. Luke tells Laura that he is investigating a theft for the Q's. He asks her to look especially gorgeous and he needs her to distract Robert tonight at the disco, so Luke can check out a warehouse without Robert tailing him. She says sure but he should be careful as she might start to like Robert's attention. More nicknames emerge as he calls Robert "son of Koala bear", a variation on his usual "Kangaroo Breath".

Robert arrives to pick up Laura and Luke immediately comes down too. He asks if Luke always interrupt when Laura has a guest. Luke reports that he is very protective of Laura and comes down anytime he thinks she might be in trouble. Cute moment as neither of the guys can open Laura's door but she shows them how it is done.  Over at Ruby's, Joe and Bobbie tell Ruby that they are helping Luke tonight to distract Robert so Luke can search a warehouse. Ruby says that Luke will hands down win the dance contest; Joe pretends to be hurt by this assumption. Bobbie says no that the dance contest is fixed and Luke won't be winning it.

Robert and Luke arrive to pick up Bobbie and Joe Kelly. Luke takes Bobbie aside and tells her that he doesn't trust Robert with Laura that he thinks he made a big mistake having Laura distracting Robert. He doesn't think Laura can handle Robert, Luke is worried that Robert is "putting the make on her". Bobbie doesn't seem too worried at this possibility. He wants Bobbie to be Robert's dance partner for the dance contest. Robert urges them to hurry up as "his lady" is waiting and he can't wait to spend the night in her arms (you can just imagine the look on Luke's face at this statement).

At the disco, Luke tells Laura he is jealous of her being with Robert and doesn't want her dancing with Kangaroo Breath and she is to say she sprained her ankle and Bobbie can be his partner for the dance contest. This will give Luke the half hour he needs without Robert following him
around. Luke calls Robert "Captain Kangaroo", "The Scorpion" and "Kangaroo skin". Laura grumbles a bit but flattered at Luke's jealousy agrees to go along with his plan especially after he tells her that he doesn't want her in the line of fire tonight. Luke stands up and cheers Bobbie on, then sneaks out while just about everyone is busy on the dance floor. Bobbie and Robert are crowned the winners, Robert is the King of the disco! Robert says he doesn't understand how he won as he wasn't born to be Gene Kelly.  The dance contest is fixed so Luke is eliminated early and he sneaks out. Bobbie and Robert are in the finals, she worries when she realizes Robert has also left.

When Robert realizes Luke has snuck off he realizes it was all a scam and he has been set up. Meanwhile, Luke is busy searching at the warehouse though Robert soon shows up. Luke says he thought Robert was being king of disco heaven and where is his crown? Robert warns him he owes him for that but at the moment two of the Cassidine goons followed him and Robert couldn't shake them. Robert suggests they team up for the night as the Cassidines are no friends of his. Luke is disturbed to learn Robert doesn't have his gun but he points out that Luke keeps taking it away from him and hitting him over the head with it! They wind up fighting the Cassidine goons and of course triumph. This is the first time they work together and prove they make a great team! Though at the last minute one of the goons breaks free and whacks Luke over the head with a chair, knocks Robert down, and frees his buddy and they run off.

They both start with the jokes and the adlibs, a sign of things to come. Robert wants to know how Luke rigged the dance contest though Luke insists Robert won it all on his own. Luke also wants to know how is the fool Robert has hired to follow Luke around on the days that Robert is busy, Luke complains the guy is really tacky. Luke surmises that Robert has also been following Alex and that Robert knows exactly what the Ice Princess is? Luke tells him he is sure that it is in Benny's warehouse as Luke has already found two of the other items that were stolen at the same time.  A rather bruised looking Luke and Robert arrive back at the disco with a whole different tune, they tell Alex that Robert saved Luke's butt from the two Cassidine henchman.

The next morning, Laura is upset with Luke, as he won't tell her more about what he is really doing for the Quartermaine's. He tells her she missed quite the party last night as they went to Robert's penthouse for breakfast. She is annoyed that everyone else seems to know what is going on and he won't tell her. She is tired of being told that it is too dangerous for her. She wants to know what the Ice Princess is and who the Cassidines are? Her phone rings, its a friend named "Kurt" (the scientist) and he invites her to go to the parade with him. Luke is annoyed and wants to know who Kurt is? She tells him if he can keep secrets then so can she! He tells her he is going upstairs to shower and change but she sees him sneaking out of the building, and is ticked that he lied to her. She watches for him to return. When she sees him with a mysterious box, she pulls him inside of her apartment and demands to know what is in the box! She tries to sneak a peak in the box, and he grabs her and they wind up in each other's arms and have a very seductive conversation with their faces together and lips an inch apart. He tells her not to come onto him. She asks him why he is holding her? He says it's to keep her away from the box. She begins nibbling on his lips and then kisses him. He reluctantly pulls away from her and tells her he has to meet Benny that he has to find him before Robert or the Cassidines do. He says it's about some stolen art treasures.

Bennie shows up and says someone is following him. Luke gets Laura to go take a shower and leave him alone to talk to Benny. He accuses Luke of stealing his stuff and demands it back or he will call the police. He tells him to go ahead and call the cops as everything in the box is stolen. Luke tells Benny that he can have all of his stuff back; Luke just wants to know where he got it from. Benny insists that he doesn't know, he didn't get any names. Luke says he is going to hang onto the stuff until Benny comes up with a name or some information on where it came from. Benny says that the guy works as a cabbie sometimes. Luke tells Benny about the statue he is looking for, it's black with a marble base. Benny hasn't seen it, Luke asks him to look out for it. Luke takes him out the back way so he can lose his tail.

The gang all arrive at the Port Charles' Bi-Centennial parade, Luke, Laura, Robert, and Alex. Alex sees Kurt, the scientist guy, and demands that he get out of there before Robert sees him. He seems very interested in Laura and Luke begins asking her questions. Back with Robert, he holds Laura close and smells her hair. Later, Laura is back home and Luke pounds on the door and demands she let him in. She claims she is tired that she has been up all night. He bangs on it, calls her a little witch, and demands she open the door. He is very jealous and tells her if she ever messes around like that again she will break her neck. He wants to know who she was flirting with at the parade that she is opening herself up for the guy to move in on her. He says the guy doesn't know that Laura only did it to get to Luke. She says she can't help it if she likes the guy or Robert. He looks at her in pure frustration, and grabs Laura and kisses her. He begs her not to get mixed up with men she doesn't know. She tells him she isn't mixed up with anyone but him, she just wants to remind him that she is there waiting for him. He continues to kiss her and she asks if he is ready to go back to Beecher's Corners yet?

The radio is on and there is a news report of Diana Taylor's murder. Luke consoles her and assures her he will be there for her. Laura calls Leslie and she asks if she can come over to help take care of PJ (Diana's son). While watching the child, they talk about the time Laura thought she was pregnant with Luke's child.  Alex reams Laura for talking to Kurt (the scientist) at the parade. She reminds Laura that Kurt's work for ELQ has to kept completely confidential and Laura talking to him on a public street could draw attention to his involvement with them. A curious Laura questions Kurt about what he is doing for ELQ, pretending fascination with his work. He claims to be just a chemist. When Laura returns to the office, Robert is there waiting for her. He invites her to lunch and she is curious about what information he is after this time? He grins at her bluntness and promises to ask her plenty of questions over lunch.
Note: The last hour of this is all new (meaning not on the L&L #7), includes Alex/Laura/Edward at ELQ, Robert & Luke at Kelly's as Luke follows up leads on cabbies (eventually leading to Emma & Charlie Lutz), Robert, The Cassidines on the yacht are first seen. I haven't described all of this yet.

Luke & Laura #6H - (E#18) late February - early April, 1981

Luke stops by Laura's to pick her up for work. He comments that Robert is moving in on her and asks if she can handle it? She assures him she can. She tells him she is going to her mother's to help with PJ and he offers to drop her off. Luke updates Alex on his investigation. Robert shows up at ELQ and flrts with Laura some more and asks if she is falling in love with him? She just laughs at him.

Back at Laura's, Luke and Laura talk about the kiss and she tells him she wishes it never ended. Luke kisses her again in one of their slow lingering kisses but Rick Webber knocks on the door and interrupts them. After Rick leaves, Laura calls him "my man the philosopher". He questions the term, "her man"? She says yes and when he gets over his hurt they will have a future together because if they don't then nothing has any meaning. This moment is interrupted by the arrival of Richard, Claudia, and Brian, as they are all going to Diana's funeral together.

Outside the service, Laura realizes that Bobbie needs a moment with her brother and suggests to Ruby that they go into the service together. Bobbie is touched by Laura's thoughtfulness and says if she didn't hate Laura so much she could almost like her! Luke comments that is the nicest thing Bobbie has ever said about Laura. She observes that he still has a touch of "Laura Baldwinitis". Diana Tyalor's memorial service is included.

Over at Kelly's, Luke enlists Bobbie's help in quizzing a cabbie about finances. When the guy joins Bobbie in complaining about the high cost of living, including the prices at Kelly's, Luke is able to rule the guy out as he is way too concerned about money. Robert observes Luke working at Kelly's and knows he is still hot on the trail of the Ice Princess. Robert urges Luke to sell it to him when he finds it. Luke is questioning everyone he can to find out who is responsible for theft of itmes on the docks. He discovers it is a cabbie.

Luke tells Alex that he has investigated all of the cabbies that work for a particular company, guys that have been flashing some cash around. He reports that a guy in a junk shop recognized the photo of the Ice Princess, and one of the cabbies wives Emma Lutz tried to sell it. Luke asks Laura what her lunch plans are and grits his teeth when she informs him she is having lunch with Robert. Luke calls the beauty shop looking for Emma and is told she is having her comb out. Luke asks Laura what that means; she says she would be happy to as soon as he tells her why he is asking? He tells her its about his investigation for Alex and he doesn't like to keep her in the dark but....she interrupts as she knows he is going to say its too protect her, keep her out of danger, ect. She tells him that comb out means that she is almost done with her hair appointment.

Robert arrives to take Laura to lunch at the Versailles Room just as Luke is taking off. Robert asks Laura about Kurt Wheeler and admits that he listened at the door as Laura and Alex were talking.  Robert is shocked to see Leslie walk in with Tony Castle (actually Tony Cassidine). He questions Laura about Leslie's involvement with Tony; she fills him in that Rick is jealous of Tony, as he has been very romantic with Leslie. Robert cracks up when he sees Luke enter the restaurant with Emma Lutz and he jokes that is sure a classy couple.

The next day, Luke shows up at Laura's apartment to give her a ride to work. She tells him she isn't going into work that day as she is going to say goodbye to Jeff Webber (her uncle) who is leaving town this day (interesting a good friend pointed out that since Jeff Webber is Laura's uncle and Liz's father, doesn't that make Liz and Lucky cousins?) She is very cool towards him, as she is jealous of him lunching with Emma. He starts explaining about Emma but she isn't interested in hearing it and tells him she just isn't curious any longer as she is working on some special projects of her own for Alex. Laura goes to the Webbers and says goodbye to Jeff and PJ. Heather shows up and is heartbroken over losing PJ. Laura and Luke stop at a cafe and he asks her about her wanting children. She says of course she does and no one would ever take a child away from her! He winds up annoying her and she tells him that while she had agreed to wait until he feels he can trust her enough not to hurt him but she pointedly warns him that no woman wants to wait forever and she storms off.

Robert shows up at Kelly's and questions Luke about who Emma is? Robert is puzzled by how Emma is involved with the Ice Princess? Robert has noticed that everyone Luke talks to has to do with the Ice Princess. At the ELQ offices, Luke tells her he is very close to finding what he has been looking for. He asks her if she would go out with him in the coming week that they need to talk about where they stand. Laura listens in as Luke makes lunch plans with Emma Lutz. Then she pumps Slick for info and finds out that Luke wants to search Emma's place. (this is where L&L #7B ends)

Laura questions Luke about what  he is after at Emma's. He tells her to stay out of it and to NOT follow him. Luke has lunch with Emma at her place.  He searches the entire place. Her husband comes home, Luke hides in the bedroom. Slick  distracts Charlie so Luke can get out of the apartment. Luke is frustrated that the Ice Princess is not at the Lutz's. Robert meets with Tony Cassidine (aka Tony Castle). Tony questions Robert about  how much Laura knows about what Alex is up to?

Robert joins Luke as he drowns his sorrows at the local bar. Luke is empty handed having not found what he was looking for. Luke vents to Robert that the Ice Princess was his shot at some financial security. Robert says he almost feels sorry for Luke. Robert gloats that he is taking Laura to dinner that night. Luke immediately calls Laura and asks her to dinner. Robert meets with Tony Cassidine again and they negotiate a deal. Robert suggests that Alex still has the statue but in order for Robert to find it, he wants Tony to stop tailing Luke as he believes he will lead him the Ice Princess. They shake hands and agree on the partnership.

Luke confides in Laura that he is depressed as he was counting on the Ice Princess for his financial future. He tells her that the Q's financial future also depends on him finding the statue. She assures him he will be successful. L&L see an article about Hutch, he gets 25-life in prison. Laura fishes a chair out of the dumpster and Luke tells her she is turning into a bag lady. Luke arrives at her apartment in the am and wants a good morning kiss. Luke is shocked to see a picture of the Ice Princess statue on the front page of the newspaper. It has been donated to Lila's charity auction. They find out the auction items are being stored in the police property room.
