Chapter 3

Luis held the frightened woman tightly against his chest, until her sobs were heard no more. He drew back to gaze at her face, careful not to wake her from her tired sleep. She looked like a fallen angel in the dim light of the moon and lightning. Her short golden hair was shining and her face was flushed from fear.
"Who are you Angel?" he whispered softly as he brushed some hair from her forehead.
"Sheridan...and I`m not an angel" came the soft reply.
Luis hadn`t realized she was awake at all. Now she was slowly sitting up on her own. Sheridan turned to him and tears glistened in her eyes as she smiled at him.
"Thank you" she spoke the words with care and truth.
"No prblem." He smiled back. Luis barely knew this women but he felt a strong need to protect her from harm.
As she drew her knees up to stay a bit warmer, she spoke in a hushed voice.
"The storm has died down."
"Yes, for awhile anyway." He answered, looking into her ice blue eyes. He saw slight fear return to the blue depths.
She stood up and looked around the corner. The wind was blowing violently and could be felt from her current position. Sheridan stumbled back and hit something hard. Starled she spun to see Luis holding put his arms to steady her.
On a whim she moved forward and pulled Luis down to her. She kissed his lips as if he was th last man on earth, she the last woman. Sheridan wrapped her arms around him, as tears filled her eyes.
Luis held the woman tightly against him and kissed her hungrily till her felt her tears on his cheek and her go weak in his arms. Seeing a break in the storm, Luis decided to try and get home. This place was scaring the hell out her. With that Luis wrapped Sheridan in his jacket and lifted her into his arms.
Once at the car, Luis lay the now sleeping Sheridan on the backseat. He climbed into the drivers seat and headed slowly home through the pouring rain.
