Chapter 2

Sheridan awoke the next morning to her radio playing and a howling wind outside. She sat up, looked out the window, sighed and fell back on the pillows. Sheridan relaxed and listened to the soft music playing beside her. A new song had just begun.

Roll over baby
The time has come...

She closed her eyes and sighed again.

..I remember
Crying in the park
It was getting dark
Suddenly I looked up
You were my sky
So sleep darlin'

Sheridan rolled over and suddenly fell off the bed. She shook her head and laughed as she stood. On her way to the bathroom, Sheridan couldn`t help but notice the strong wind outside. 'Odd' she thought.
Later, after deciding to return to the lighthouse, Sheridan packed some food and left.
As she walked along the exposed beach, towards the lighthouse, Sheridan noticed dark clouds gathering and the wind picking up. She rushed toward the building, and ducked inside just as it began to rain. She pushed shut the heavy wooden door and made her way upstairs.
Luis had just been driving past the Point, when he saw her duck inside the lighthouse. He turned around just as the storm grew worse. It was now pouring heavy rain, which was being driven into the windshield and against the car by the strong sea wind. It took Luis a half hour to drive back to the one mile. Just as he reached the lighthouse, the light inside went black and he heard a faint scream.
Sheridan screamed as the lamp blew out of her hand and smashed onto the floor. The window pane had been shattered by a flying branch, letting the storm inside.
She watched the rain pour in with wide, frightened eyes. Backing against the wall she whimpered and fell to the floor crawling. She climeb into a closet space crying. She began repeating "I didn`t do it! No! I didn`t mean to..." as she curled into a ball hiding her face from the memories of "That Night".
Luis ran into the lighthouse and rushed up the stairs. He immediatley spotted the broken lamp and window, but her didn`t see anyone. Listening carefully, he heard a soft crying, over the storm. It came from around the corner so he carefully crept over. He looked around and then down to the floor. The woman from last night was huddled in a corner space, crying. Luis kneeled down in front of her.
Sheridan glanced up. through her tear blurred eyes, she saw Luis' face. Throwing her arms around his neck she obbed into his chest, burying her face.
Luis fell back in shock as the woman leaped at him. He held her against his chest.
"Shhh...its alright, your safe now." He whispered against her hair in a soothing voice.
"It will be alright."

The song lyrics were from Just Missed The Train by Danielle Brisebois. If anyone remembers it was the song playing during the Shuis memory scene at the Seascape the nigth before Sheridan went to Paris.
