A Story With LUSH

Summary - This story does not come close to the present lives of Harmony residents. I did take some of the storylines like Sheridan's flashbacks & Martin's disappearance. Luis, Sheridan, Hank, and Beth are all in High School. Ethan is away at boarding school, Theresa is nine yrs. old and Miguel is six.

Chapter 7

Exams were finally over and Luis and Hank were walking to Beth's place to bid her farewell.
"So are you and Sheridan still okay?" Luis asked.
Hank stopped walking and looked over at Luis. "Why are you so hung up on Sheridan and me?"
Luis put his hands in his coat pockets and shook his head.
"Because I just dont want to see you get hurt."
"Luis dont worry Sheridan wont hurt me." Hank said starting to walk again. "Besides all she's done so far is make me feel good."
This time Luis stopped walking. "What does that mean?"
"Luis! Dont worry me and Sheridan are none of your business. You have to think about what your going to do while your lady is gone."
"I dont know plan some parties for the kids down at the Youth Center. Help Mama around the house."
"Luis?" Hank asked. "Is there at least one girl you could think of that you wouldn't mind getting to know a little bit better?"
Luis thought for a while and finally Sheridan came into his thoughts.
"There see I knew someone would pop up." Hank exclaimed noticing the big grin form on Luis's face. "Who is she?"
Luis stopped smiling and put his head down. "No one important."
"She must be if she can bring a smile like that to your face."
"Just drop it okay Hank!" Luis snapped.
Hank raised his hands in defense. "Okay but I can tell who ever she is shell probably cause a lot of problems between you and Beth."
"And you." Luis mumbled under his breath.

Book Cafe:

It was two weeks till Christmas and the book cafe looked like Christmas was already there. Light strands were hanging from wall to wall and all around the windows. There was a huge Christmas tree in the corner with fake presents underneath. Tinsel and garland were hanging on the mantel of the fireplace. And each table had a poinsettia plant on it. Luis and Hank saw that the couch was vacant and made their way towards it.
"Where's Beth?" Hank asked taking off his gloves and looking around the room.
"She must be upstairs getting ready."
Hank took in a huge breath and exhaled loudly. "I love Christmas Luis."
"Why?"
"Because of the mistletoe." Hank said pointing to some above the front door. Just then Sheridan came walking into the Book Cafe.
"Sheridan stop!" Hank yelled across the room.
Sheridan froze in shock and watched Hank walk towards her.
"What's wrong Hank?" She asked scared.
"Nothing just this." Hank answered leaning towards her and planting a big one on her. Sheridan didn't reply to his kisses. When Hank pulled away Sheridan was stiff as a board.
"You were standing underneath mistletoe."
"Oh." Sheridan lamented looking up above her. Hank grabbed Sheridan's arm and led her too the couch where Luis was. Sheridan pulled away from Hanks hold.
"Maybe I shouldn't intrude."
"No, your not intruding. Is she Luis?"
Luis put down his hot drink and looked up at Sheridan but before he could answer Beth came downstairs.
"Hi, guys." Beth exclaimed then saw Sheridan standing behind Hank. "and girls."
"Hank could I talk to you for a second?" Beth asked walking towards the back room.
"Sure."
Luis and Sheridan were left alone. Sheridan was very uncomfortable around Luis.
"So what are you doing for New Years?" Luis asked interrupting her thoughts.
"Going to the Country Club."
"Oh the Seascape."
"Yeah."
"Is Hank going with you."
"No Im going with another guy."
"But I thought you and Hank."
"No me and Hank aren't serious." she confirmed. "At least not now, unless something happens."
"Who is he?"
"Who....oh the guy. His name is Aaron and he's the son of a business associate of my father's." Luis let out a sigh thankful that she and Hank weren't serious.

Back room:

Beth pulled Hank into the storage room and closed the door behind him.
"Beth...what?"
"I need a favor."
"Okay, what?"
"Keep an eye on Luis for me."
"Beth...."
"And keep him away from Sheridan."
"Why away from Sheridan?"Hank asked. "Luis doesn't like her. She's a Crane for crying out loud."
"Have you seen the way he looks at her lately?"
"No and if he did its probably his death stare."
"No, its different he doesn't talk bad about her anymore either."
"Beth you are over reacting." Hank informed her with a laugh.
"Please Hank." she begged.
Hank stopped laughing and stared at her.
"You're really worried aren't you?"
"Yes."
"Alright Ill keep them apart."

Book Cafe:

"Sheridan I need to......." Luis started to say.
Hank jumped between Luis and Sheridan. "Hey I'm back! Did you miss me?" Hank asked Sheridan handing her a drink.
Sheridan smiled avoiding Hanks question.
"So are you ready to go?" Luis asked Beth taking some luggage from her.
"What were you two talking about?" Beth asked wondering why Sheridan was so silent.
Luis did not answer her question just picked up some more luggage.
"Luis?" Beth asked again.
Luis looked at her. "Oh ...what we were doing for New Year's."
Beth eyed Sheridan nervously. Sheridan felt Beth staring at her.
"Um.......I really need to get home." Sheridan said putting down her drink and picking up her purse and coat and backing away from Hank.
"Why so soon?" Hank asked helping her put her coat on. Sheridan looked over at Beth then at Luis who wasn't even paying attention.
"Um I just really have to get home."
"But...."
"Hank! Just let her go home. Maybe she has something important to do." Luis yelled annoyed with the way Hank was badgering Sheridan.
Sheridan was shocked by Luis outburst and apparently Beth was to because she was now looking at Luis in amazement.
"Well, I guess Ill see you around." Sheridan said. "Have fun Beth see you when you get back. Bye." she said before waving and turning to leave.
