A Story With LUSH

Summary - This story does not come close to the present lives of Harmony residents. I did take some of the storylines like Sheridan's flashbacks & Martin's disappearance. Luis, Sheridan, Hank, and Beth are all in High School. Ethan is away at boarding school, Theresa is nine yrs. old and Miguel is six.

Chapter 13

Lopez-Fitzgerald House:

Luis was fixing himself a sandwich when he heard a knock at the door.
"Hank!" Luis exclaimed when he opened the door.
"Dont rub it in my face Luis." Hank growled as he brushed past Luis and into the kitchen.
"Rub what in your face?" he asked taking a bite of his sandwich.
"You know what."
"NO I.....oh you mean me sleeping at Sheridan's last night." he said with a smile.
"yeah you sleeping at Sheridan's." Hank repeated mockingly. "I went by there this morning and you weren't there."
"Yeah I had to leave before my Mom got to work." he answered then paused. "Did you see that guy that was there?"
"You mean her nephew?"
"That was her nephew." Luis repeated with relief in his voice.
"Yeah."
"So what are you doing tonight?" Hank asked sitting down at the table.
Luis opened the fridge." Do you want something to drink?"
"No thanks."
"I am meeting Sheridan."
"Where?"
"Oh no." Luis said laughing."I am not going to tell you because you'll steal my idea and interrupt us."
Hank scoffed. "That was mean Luis. You aren't playing your cards right."
"Hey you yourself said it wasn't supposed to be a fair bet."
"That was dirty pool though."
"I have to thank you." Luis told hank sitting down.
"For what?"
"Hitting me last night. Sheridan was all over making me feel better."
"So what did you two do last night?"
Luis looked at Hank."None of your business."
"Yes it is."
"No its not."
"Come on Luis I have to know so I can do you one better."
"Hank you already have done one better."
"How?"
"You told me the other day that you and Sheridan were this close to falling into bed."
"Yeah."
"So me and her only kissed."
"was she into it?"
"Ahhhh! Hank!"
"Was she?"
"Lets just say I dont think you were on her mind while she was kissing me."
"What made you guys stop?"
"She brought up the fact that me and Beth are dating and how it wasn't right for us to kiss."
"That's my girl." Hank beamed.
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"She wont fall for you because your with Beth. Luis you should've known Sheridan isn't like that. She doesn't steal people away."
"I have a plan for that."
"What plan?"
"Hank you do what you have to do to win the bet and I'll do what I have to do to win."
"Luis dont even think about lying to Sheridan to win."
"I am not going to lie to Sheridan. I wont..." Luis paused and thought about what he would do when Beth returned.
"How am I going to play this game when Beth returns?"
Hank smiled. "Either you win her attention now or you lose the bet."
"There has to be another way."
"Yeah you break up with Beth."
Luis looked at Hank as if to agree with him.
"Luis man I was only kidding Beth and you dont need to split up over this. How about if you cant win Sheridan's heart before Beth gets home you only owe me twenty bucks."
"No we already agreed on a hundred."
"Luis its not worth it."
"Oh yes she is Hank."
"Who.....she?" Hank asked confused. "Luis what happened last night between you and Sheridan?"
"What do you mean?"
"Your willing to give up everything you have to win this bet and Sheridan."
"No just the bet."
"But Luis you just said 'she's worth it' She Luis!"
"You know what I meant Hank." Luis said with a chuckle.
"No I dont Luis indulge me."
"Hank this bet was your idea. And you know I never back down from a challenge."
"Luis I dont want you ruining things with Beth." He said. "You and Beth have a future together."
"Hank I am not going to break up with Beth."
Hank looked at Luis confused.
"I just said all that stuff to psych you out." Luis explained. "If I cant win before Beth gets home then... okay I guess I dont."
Hank sighed. "Man I thought you were serious. You really had me thinking you were falling hard for Sheridan. Willing to lose Beth over her. You really had me going."
Luis smiled weakly."Yeah me the kidder."
Hank laughed. "Thanks for that laugh I really needed it." he patted Luis on the shoulder."To tell you the truth I thought I already lost the bet when you told me you kissed her."
"Oh..... I really did kiss her."
Hank stopped laughing.
"Well, I guess I'll have to keep an eye out on you then."
Luis laughed. "You're alright Hank. You're alright."
Ring! Ring!
Luis told hank to hold on and went to pick up the phone.
"Hello."
"Hey, Beth. Why did it take you so long to call me?.... The airport lost your luggage and you still couldn't find a phone to call me.?...... I know Im just kidding."
"Luis Im going to head out."
"Wait Hank were not done talking."Luis said grabbing his arm.
"Yeah Hank is here." Luis told Beth."Sure hold on."
Luis handed Hank the phone."She wants to talk to you."
"hello."
"Hey Hank."
"Hi Beth. How's your trip?"
"Fine. "she replied.
"How are you?"
"Fine."
"Hank are you keeping your promise?" she finally asked.
"What promise?"
"Hank!!" Beth said scared."The one where you keep Luis away from Sheridan."
Hank froze. "Oh yeah! Well its been tough."
"What do you mean tough?"
"Well cant really tell you right now. But I think Im doing a good job." Beth sighed. "As long as your keeping an eye on Luis and Sheridan I'll be fine."
"Will do."
"Can you put Luis back on the phone."
"yeah bye. Have fun."
Hank handed Luis the phone.
"Beth can you call back later tonight? I have to talk to Hank."
Luis asked. "Ok, bye love ya too."
Luis hung up the phone and turned to Hank. "So where were we?"
"Maybe we should call of this silly bet." Hank suggested.
"Why?"
"Because Im really starting to think this is only going to end up hurting a lot of people."
"What happened to Hank? The one who told me to try others while Beth was gone."
"Luis..."
"No Hank. You told me to have fun while Beth was gone and I am."
"I know but..."
"I think your calling off the bet because you know your going to lose."
"Luis I know Im going to win. I just dont want you to get hurt."
"You're really confident your going to win."
"Yes I am. Tell me Luis do you know anything about Sheridan's past, do you know anything personal about her?"
"No....."
"Right." Hank said. "So I am going to win."
Luis laughed. "We'll see."
