Emotions Part Two: In Dreams
Written By: Me (~Carla~)

It took Luis a moment before he connected the two...

As the fog blinding Luis's mind faded away, the connection became clear. The childhood nightmares Sheridan had told him about in New Mexico, were real. She had unintentionally killed Martin Fitzgerald. But for some reason he just couldn't be angry with her anymore.

Sheridan lay huddled on the bed, the pain running through her almost deafening. 'He hates me...Oh God he hates me'. Sheridan had already forgiven him for his original outrage, though the memories of it would be present for awhile. She turned slightly and winced.

"Sheridan..." Luis' voice was a husky whisper as he crawled across the bed to her. He leaned over her and reached to lift her up. He gently pulled her to her knees and ran his hands down over her body to see if he had hurt her.

Sheridan whimpered lightly as his hands passed over a tender spot on her ribs.

"Luis...I'm sorry" She lifted her eyes and looked at him, sincerity in their depths.

Luis leaned forward and gently kissed her lips.

"No need Sheridan, it wasn't your fault, I`m the one who`s sorry..." He loved her so much he knew he could never be angry with her.

To see if there was anymore damage, Luis gently pulled down the strap of her chemise and kissed the bit of skin it revealed. He pulled it further down and continued with his kisses.

"Is this really necessary Luis?" Sheridan's hands ran again over the blindfold, wanting desperately to take it off and let her see where Luis was taking her.

"For the last time Sheridan, yes!" Luis answered with a laugh.

"Oh but..." Suddenly the car stopped, "Luis?"

When she heard no reply, her heart began to race. "Luis!" She called again.

"Boo!" Luis opened her door and laughed when she jumped and looked in his general direction. The blindfold still covered her eyes when he lifted her into his arms and shut the door with his foot. Luis carried Sheridan through a thin wood to the edge of a pristine lake.

He set her down on a blanket he had set up earlier and took off the blindfold.

"Oh my God Luis! It's beautiful!"

"Not compared to you" he said leaning in to kiss her lovingly.

They ate a small picnic he had prepared and lay down on the blanket. Sheridan stared up at the still appearing stars, and sighed softly. She was lying with her head on Luis' shoulder, his arm behind his head.

Suddenly Luis sat up, taking Sheridan with him. He drew he into his lap and gently ran his hand over her face so her eyes closed.

"Luis?" She whispered softly.

"Shhh..." Luis drew a small black box from his pocket and set it, open, in her hand.

Slowly Sheridan opened her eyes and stared at the box. Her voice a loving whisper she said his name.

"Luis..."

"Sheridan, I've been meaning to ask you this for a long time. Will you marry me?"

As Sheridan's eyes welled up with tears, Luis slipped the ring on her finger.

"Oh yes Luis! Yes!" Sheridan reached up and drew Luis' face down to hers. She kissed him hungrily and hugged him tightly.

Luis watched his wife dance with Miguel from across the room. She looked beautiful, as always. In the 3 years they had been together, her hair had grown down past her shoulders and was now cut in the newest style with chunked bangs. She wore an old-fashioned, satin and lace, corseted wedding dress with a wide skirt and a row of small ivory buttons that ran up her back. The neck was cut low in back and front. Around her neck was the simple diamond pendant Luis had given her the Christmas before. Sheridan`s hair was curled and piled on top of her head with ringlet hanging down to frame her face. Luis continued to watch as Miguel spun Sheridan, her dress flairing out and and her happy laughter filling Luis' ears as he snapped a photo.

A year later, Sheridan stood in the living room looking at that picture, memories flooding back. Smiling softly she replaced the picture and turned to look out the window. Twilight was upon Harmony now, Luis would be home soon. She smiled at the thought and went to the kitchen to start supper.

That night was the first time the dream returned in the 4 years since Luis' found out about his father.Or so he thought. The sound of her soft sobbing tore at Luis' heart.

It was happening again, the dream, Sheridan ran but just couldn`t escape the fear following her. 'Run' she told herself as she cried her way through the darkness, 'Run!'

Luis gently shook her shoulder, trying to awaken her.

"Sheridan...wake up honey, it`s a dream, just a dream love," He watched as she woke, blinking at first.

"Oh God Luis," Sheridan sobbed as she sat up and wiped the tears from her eyes less than gently.

Luis pulled her up against him and took over the task of drying her eyes. "Shhh..." He whispered as Sheridan began to calm down. He pulled her back from him so her could see her face and asked softly, "What was it about?"

Sheridan swallowed and stared at Luis' handsome face before answering.

"I..I was running from...something, I don`t know what...and I..I couldn`t get away."

As Luis' spoke he cursed himself for leaving her alone these past few weeks. He could tell that this wasn`t the first time this dream had come to her. Luis' hugged her tightly and reassured her she was safe until finally she drifted back to sleep. He held her like that all night.

The dream returned several times throughout the next few months. But Sheridan never had a clear understaning of what she was running from in it. It was always just a fog, hiding whatever was truly there.
