Another great story from Vertigo! the growing attraction between the protagonist is so well developed that you can really feel it when you're reading! (and I mean it: do not read it at work!) No angst, no violence, Vertigo wrote just a perfect "lust at first sight story" without being obvious or predictable. Great supporting character too, the in laws are totally amazing! Wow I can't believe I had avoided Vertigo's stories so long (Deep felt apologies Vertigo), for some reason I had it in my head they would be a liiiittle too kinky for me (All that based on a synopsis for Private Dancer), but having read this I was proved so very wrong. Oh don't you worry the sex is there (HOBOY is it!)but it is passionate and filled with feeling not at all shallow or hedonistic. Oh my gosh, what a great strory. I couldn't stop reading it. The characters are so well written and relatable (is that a word). there were parts of this story that I had to stop reading for a few minutes so I could stop laughing. THis is the first story I've read by Vertigo and now I can't wait to read more. I love this author and this story is definitely one of my favourites. The characters are so real you can almost feel what they're feeling and live vicariously through them. The story is about a butch construction worker, Sheridan Landers, whose favorite past time is to go to the club and get busy with the gal of her choice. Being that she's blonde, cocky as hell with a body to die for, that task is a very easy one indeed. Enter Keefer Gibson, a very unhappy woman in a miserable relationship. She's six feet of tall, dark and gorgeous, but sadly her girlfriend has taken all self worth away. Sparks fly when the two meet, being that Keefer is a site inspector. Their journey is one that will require patience, love and understanding. Just the kind of relationship Sheridan knows nothing of. This is a story that grabs you and takes you on a rollercoaster ride and does not let go. I have brought the book and have already read it twice, but i do have just one niggly little thing, why does the club scene at the end, end so suddenly, nope not liking that. It could have been a little bit more. I totally fell in love with keefer, i wanna take her home and cover in cotton wool and worship her, sheridan i just wanna keep chained to the bed and use as a sex slave.
