The Tomorrow People was created in 1973 by Roger Price. (Later Roger Damon Price) and it was about a group of kids who had great powers of telepathy and skills beyond ordinary humans ...or saps as they referred to the mere mortals as.
The original series was partially based on that fab David Bowie song "Oh, You Pretty Things"..hence the Tomorrow People referring to themselves wonderfully as Homo Superior!
The Original Tomorrow People was a wonderfully kitsche program, and I lurvve those fab jaunt belts that just look so daggy and seventies. When the new series premiered in 1992 one thing that I really feel should have been kept from the old show but wasn't, were the jaunt belts, the new tomorrow people must be much more powerful than the old ones as well as being more tastefully dressed!
The New Tomorrow People was also created by Roger Damon Price, although he was only involved in the first five episodes. The 90s version is also a lot of fun and very kitsche and dated itself now too. For example I love how they included Kristian Schmidt from Neighbours as it was made just at that point in time when awful australian soap opera was all the rage in Britain LOL.
