After Our Breakup
by Janelle,

Nikolas Cassadine sat on his bed, and he could probably hear soft rock on the radio coming from his brother's room as he was sitting on his bed for such a long time. It's the same radio station that could be heard and listened to at Kelly's.  It can also be heard at the Port Charles Grill, and at Gia's house in her room. He could think of something he should've never done, and he wanted to do it his own way. Anyway, it had been three years since his grandmother, Helena told him a message that would cause him to break up with the woman he loved and all he wanted, Gia Campbell.

Why could his grandmother had to be very evil to make her grandson to do everything as she says? Helena was his grandmother, she is evil, a witch, a psycho granny, a human being, and a monster who is also the mother of Stavros and Stefan, who raised them as her sons, and who also raised Alexis as her illegitimate daughter, but not him because he's her grandson that he is the only son being raised by Stavros who was his one and only father. And another thing about her is just because she makes plans for her grandson and the rest of the Cassadines in her family. She knew she wanted to protect her grandson from danger, and she thought that Gia was not the right woman for him, but she said that Elizabeth was the right one for him. But it's not true that he cannot be with Elizabeth. All he wanted to be is with Gia for the rest of his life, and that was the only thing that should be true. It should be true because he loved her all the way through, just until he pushed her away, and had a change of heart with Elizabeth after breaking up with her. However, there might be a way for him to get Gia back into his life.

But he didn't realize the breakup between him and Gia had to start before the war between the Spencers and the Cassadines already began a long time ago during that summer after he dumped her. This kind of war was just only a family feud, that the Spencers hated his family, except him. The Spencers hate the Cassadines, and the Cassadines hated the Spencers. Besides, he only loved Lucky, is just because he is his little brother. Lucky and Nikolas don't hate each other, but only their families hated themselves. At the end of the war, he wanted to save her life whenever Luke, Stavros or anyone else would've tried to reunite them. Helena's only job was that she can't keep them together because she kept them apart for too long.

After all these years on that day Helena told him to send Gia away by packing her bags and to move out of the cottage where they were living together and to protect his brother Lucky as of they were the reasons why Nikolas has to break up with Gia and to return to the family by making a choice like that. And, she gave him the yacht to live with her ever since he and Gia don't live with each other in the cottage together anymore. He had to break up with Gia is all because of all the money he collected and sometimes she used it all up for her job at the Face Of Deception.

Then, after his last moment with Gia together, they had to break up because Helena said so. How much Nikolas treated Gia bad by hurting her feelings and her heart. He yelled at her really loud that she could hear him yelling so loud at her. He also broke her heart really bad into pieces. One thing that Nikolas told Gia, that she doesn't fit into his world, and she doesn't fit into it. Ever since Gia doesn't fit into his world, so she does not before she even slapped him in the face and started to walk away, and the both of them start to cry as Nikolas was still on the roof of General Hospital, and she went to the docks at Wyndemere, and she sat down on the bench all by herself until Stavros came up to her and comforted her.

He didn't like Helena, but there was anything that could be on her. The whole thing was her fault that would be causing to make her grandson break up with his girlfriend known as Princess Sparky. But the message she told him was not even true. One thing would be true that Helena would've never said it to him instead. Then the only other true thing that Nikolas should've had a normal life instead of going back to the family. If he wanted to have a normal life, then he should've stayed with Gia. If he returned to the family, then he could have to break up with Gia as a reason why he has to save Lucky's life.

He met Gia after Elizabeth, and after Sarah and Katherine before he dumped her by his grandmother's plan. Forget Elizabeth. Forget Sarah and Katherine. Forget his grandmother's plan. He liked Gia, loved Gia, and couldn't stand to be away from Gia. However, he missed Gia three years ago since the night he ended his relationship with her. It seems how much he can't live without her all of his life. He still loved her all the way through until that sad day of their breakup. The breakup did not mean it all to the both of them, and he was sure on how he wanted to try to get her back before it was too late for him if Helena would have kept him away from her. But Lucky also wanted Liz because they should've been married a long time ago. Nikolas always wanted Gia, not Elizabeth. The problems between Nikolas, Gia, Lucky and Elizabeth seemed to be affecting them all by Helena's evil powers. They're all affected by them as both of the couples had broken up under her spell and they all had a change of heart. Anyway, the spell was no longer there, Lucky and Liz were reunited again, but now it's time for Nikolas to have his chance to reunite with Gia before it's too late.

"Nikolas........" Helena said as he could hear could her voice in the distance from outside the window. He headed down the stairs to the front door. He opened the door, stepped outside, and he walked up to her. And there she was, looking at her grandson.

"Grandmother? What is it you want?" Nikolas asked her.

"Nikolas, there are some things that you didn't understand."

"Helena, I don't care about any plans that you made me do to come back into the family. I can still protect my brother, and that's all I can do."

"That could be a wonderful thing you can still do, Nikolas."

"What you can see, Helena, there is some kind of plan you made me come back into the family is to let me break up with the woman I love to end my relationship with Gia, and you just made it up to yourself."

"So I did make you return to the family."

"You did, it was you who made me did return to my crazy and stupid family. But on that day those three years ago, you messed my life up. You completely messed it up. And you really screwed it up. I love Gia for ANY reason and that's all I do in my life all the time until you planned on me to break up with her as a reason why I have to return to the family and kick her out of the cottage we lived in together like you told me to send her away by packing her bags and move out. And another thing, you made me have to live in the yacht with you after I moved out of the cottage, too. Besides, whatever I'm still the prince or not if I were still in love with Gia or else I even have to be out of love with her for the rest of my life."

"What else did I do to mess up your life, grandson?"

"You also messed up Gia's life, too. How dare you have to make her not go near me anymore? You told her that she couldn't go near me and not ever see me again and some other things you've said to her. I love her, and she loves me. I know I just can't live without her. Then, why you think that Elizabeth has to be my new mate again after you told me that Gia is not the right woman for me? You see here, I don't love Elizabeth, and I don't care about Elizabeth at all. Elizabeth is just only a friend of mine. Gia is the only woman I can only choose, and I will never lose Gia again after I lost her once a long time ago like you told me to lose her before. How could you ever tell these things to me and to Gia to mess both of of our lives up?"

"Nikolas, what I am trying to do is to protect you from danger these years ago.  All the mess I have ever made onto you both has ever caused you to split up with her, and it's all because of me, but I know I've wanted you to stay away from her, and that's why I have to make you do that."

"Who cares, grandmother? I still love Laura and Stavros. They were my mom and dad. And I also still love Aunt Alexis and Uncle Stefan. But all I hate is you because you messed everything up on anyone else and my brother, too. But that means I love my brother. Anyway, I the only person I love the most is Gia in my entire life until that day we broke up because of the plan you made up for me to do. Tell me one thing you messed our lives up as before Alexis, Stefan and Stavros cleaned both of the messes up."

"Both Alexis and my sons already talked to me. They already cleaned up the mess after me. Before they all had to clean up the mess, they went to talk to Gia and she told them how much sad she feels about you after you lost her. I just told you that Gia is a nice young girl, and she has to make her own decision like Edward told her so, the same way his granddaughter Emily did if she wanted Zander."

"Aren't you going to tell me you're sorry for what you did to make me break up with my true love as why I had to return to the family? What are you going to do if you don't make me take her back?"

"Now, grandson, I'm going to tell you I'm sorry that I made you go back into the family. I'm sorry I made you to breakup with your woman. I'm sorry I told you to send her away for good. I'm sorry for giving the yacht to you. And I'm really, really sorry about the trouble I've made to threaten everyone including your true love. And I'll never do it again. Now you can change your decision by moving back into the cottage, tell Gia you're sorry, and let her move back into the cottage where you two lived before, and you can start your relationship all over again the way it was before I've made the two of you break up. So the whole thing was my fault."

"What else are you going to tell me for what you're sorry about, grandmother?"

"I am also sorry for telling you to send Gia packing and sending her away. I think she has changed her mind. She doesn't need to leave, but she wanted to stay with you. But you can still see the family anytime you want to."

Nikolas watched Helena turn around as she start to walk away from her grandson. He can see images of Luke telling Helena to get out of town and stop controlling Lucky. He could still hear the soft rock music playing on the radio coming from his brother's room. The radio was probably playing a song by Faith Hill, and the title of the song was called "There You'll Be" from the movie Pearl Harbor, and it can really explain about finding a lost love that could be found again after it was gone for a long time. The song probably reminded him of Gia and he remembered how much he missed her that he hasn't seen her for a very long time, and how much far they were from each other after all of these years.

Suddenly, Nikolas walked back up to the entrance of the house through the door where it's still open, and he closed it. He ran back upstairs and into his room. No matter what Helena was sorry for everything she made him do if he could make a change about his decision. He pulled out some empty suitcases, and start packing them up with clothes and some other things that he needed to move back into the cottage he lived in with Gia before their relationship ended that day those years ago, and now he has to tell Gia he's sorry, and they needed to start their relationship all over again the way it's supposed to be before. Nikolas finished packing all of his bags and he needed to take his own radio with him, too. When he's all finished packing, he stepped out of the room, closed the door, but he could see that Lucky's room was empty. But the door was open, Lucky was gone, and the radio was left on, and the song they played was probably over. Another song started to play was called "No Matter What" by this Irish boy band called Boyzone, and it also can tell some lost love can still be found.

Before he stepped out of the house with all of the full and packed bags in his hands, he had to write a note for Lucky really quick and placed it on the living room coffee table. The finished written note said, "Lucky, I'm moving out of this house. I'm moving back into the cottage where Gia and I used to live. I know I haven't felt connected to Gia in a long time for those three years, and I'm going to get her back and tell her I'm sorry for everything I've done to her for what my wicked grandmother did to make me stop seeing Sparky anymore. Love, Nikolas."

Nikolas stepped out of the house and keep coming back in and out because of so many bags that are packed, and placed them in the trunk of his car. As he got all his bags in the trunk, he opened the door of the driver's side of his car, sat down in the driver's seat, and shut the door. He got his seat belt on, turn the keys in the ignition, pulled the handle to reverse to move out of the driveway, and he pulled it back to drive, and he started driving. "I miss you Gia," he said to himself. "I'm sorry about the things I've done to you three years ago. I shouldn't had returned to the family, I should've stayed with you. I miss you." Now he should be on his way to that old cottage and he should be moving back in it soon as possible.
