Many projects require a plan or blueprint drawn up  before any work is started on them.  Certain people even organize their whole day step by step.
My wife likes to make a list of things she wants to accomplish and check off the items as they are completed. Some plans work well and others, not so well.  Some  people would like to plan the perfect robbery, others the perfect invention. Most everyone’s life is touched in some way by plans.

I would like to write about the greatest plan; it is different from any other. Why it is different? For two reasons: one, it is perfect; two, because it has been made with the greatest love. It is so large, powerful, and far reaching that we can’t really understand it all.

Who made this plan and what is its purpose? God made it for the purpose of having man as a companion. You might think,  you mean God made a great plan just because He wants me as a friend? How big is His plan anyway? God made the whole universe as part of His plan, He made the earth and everything we need to make us comfortable here, and He built this plan around His Son.

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

God made man and put him in a garden on earth. God walked with and talked with man and had the fellowship with man that He desired. But it was short lived, for man rebelled against God. Why did God allow this rebellion? Men have been asking that same question down through the years. We wonder why God permits this or that bad thing to happen? The answer is that God didn’t plan for man to be a robot, programmed into following His commands without choice. He desires a man who loves Him so much that he will choose to be a faithful, willingly obedient friend of God’s forever.

Genesis 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

Part of God’s plan was to make life a test.  God has hidden Himself in some ways from us. (This is a lot like when you learn how children really behave when you are listening and looking ,and they don’t know you are around.) God walked among us in His son and taught us about Himself and what He expects from us, but because God is a Spirit (and thus invisible) some say that Christ is just a man, not God. Many people have no concept of spiritual things. I have said, “Some see God in everything and others don’t see Him in anything.”

From the very beginning, in the Garden of Eden, God told Adam and Eve that He had a plan.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

This was a prophecy that God was going to send Someone to help man get back in fellowship with Him. It is written all through Scripture that One was coming who would give mankind the victory over sin. Because man’s nature is to rebel (even when he wants to do right), God made a way for us to have a new nature. God’s plan takes away all of a man’s past sins and gives him a new heart to love and obey God. The man who once hated God now loves Him and wants to be with Him. What a turn-around!

God made this whole big world just so He could have a group of people to fellowship with forever. ( And if you think this world isn’t big, just look up at the stars!)

The sad thing is that not all people who live on earth will have that fellowship with Jesus. In fact, the Scriptures read that few will find the plan. God invites all to come, but many refuse.

Peter II 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

How great is Jesus’ love for us; He made and keeps the whole universe just for us. Please go to Him.  He will show you His love and His great plan for you.

Psalm 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I show the salvation of God.

When God says “I will” He really means it!
