REMEMBER
                                                   By H. Witmyer

MEMORY A WONDERFUL THING
If you have a good memory you are rich.  You can do so much in life. You can go on to higher learning, gain much knowledge. You could be such a blessing to others.

A BLOW TO THE HEAD
There are people who have had a head injury or a disease that caused them to forget.   They can’t remember loved ones, even who they are.

TEACHING ENGLISH
One year my wife and I helped with a ESL class. I was trying to help two men learn English. The one man had a very good memory, the other had a very poor one. I used a picture of a home, we made up a story as we went through the house. The one man did very well, the other could not do it. I felt sorry for him.

MY WIFE'S MEMORY
She can remember whole lines. I stand amazed as she goes on and on quoting long lines. It has done her well in many ways.

HE THAT IS CONTINUALLY THANKFUL
He that thinks over and over of the blessings in his life has a continual feast. Wood warms twice, once when you cut and split it and also when you burn it. He that remembers a happy time has joy again.

INCLUDE GOD IN OUR JOYS
What is the joy of giving, seeing the joy in someone's heart when they open that special package.
God has joy when we enjoy His blessings. Include God in your joys.

MEMORY CAN BE BAD
Soldier after the war many times is tormented for the rest of his life because of the memories that keep coming back. A child abused may never live normal life. They can never forget.

JESUS CAN HELP
He can help us shut out bad memories, replace them with good ones. Old things have passed away all things are new.

Corinthians II 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

LET NOT
“Let not “  If Jesus told us to, we can through Him do it.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

REMEMBER THE SCRIPTURES.
To break a wild  horse, the key is to hold on and you will control Him.
The same thing goes for something in your life you don’t have control over. Find a good scripture that gives you hope and keep holding on by faith. Don’t give up, don’t let go and you shall have control.

LOAVES AND FISHES.
Jesus was in a boat with his disciples. He talked about bread. They thought He was rebuking them for not buying bread. They had just come from a place where Jesus had fed 5 thousand people by making bread. How had they so soon forgotten?

Matthew 16:8 Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?
Matthew 16:9 Do ye not yet understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
Matthew 16:10 Neither the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?

DAVID THE BEAR AND LION.
A boy named David was about to fight a 9 foot giant. How could he have such courage? He remembered how God helped him in other battles. Remember what God did in your last hard trial.

Psa 78:7  That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments:

WIFE FORGOT WALLET.
One day my wife and I came home from shopping. We had a phone call, a clerk from a store said my wife left her wallet there. We thought ‘What if all the cards and money were gone‘. Well everything was there, thank the Lord. When we forget, it can cost us. A spiritual loss can be even greater when we forget important Bible principles.

Psa 119:93  I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.

Peter II 1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

                                        DON’T FORGET
