| Question 1 If Jesus is the name above every name, what is the highest name of God? Philippians 2:9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; Question 2 Jesus said to be baptized in the name of father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Peter said to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. What is the right name to be baptized in? Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Question 3 Many believe that the Son is equal with the Father. Who is greater? John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. Question 4 One scripture says Jesus was born of the Father, another says that the Holy Ghost was His father. Who is the father of Jesus? John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Question 5 Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom, what are the keys? Matthew 16:19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Question 6 Jesus said all power was given to him. If Christ had all the power is the Father powerless? Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Question 7 Jews that came with Peter to Cornelius house were shocked that the gentiles received the Holy Ghost. How did they know that they received it? Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. Question 8 Jesus said that remission of sins would be preached in His name beginning at Jerusalem. When did this happen? Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Question 9 The Bible says that some people believed in Jesus and were baptized. Later they received the Holy Ghost. Can a person believe on Jesus and not have the Holy Spirit in them? Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: Question 10 The Bible says that a man named Simon saw that people receive the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands. What did Simon see that he knew that they had received the Spirit? Acts 8:18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Question 11 Peter said to repent and be baptized for remission of sins, yet the Bible says without the shedding a blood there is no remission of sins. Is the blood of Jesus applied at baptism after repentance? Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. Question 12 Jesus said to His disciples of the Father, “Ye have seen Him.” But the Bible says,” no man has seen God at any time.” How can this be? Can we see God or not? John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. John 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Question 13 The Bible says that some disciples were re-baptized, why did they do this? Acts 19:3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Question 14 There is no record of anyone being baptized in the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost in the New Testament, why is this? What important things did Aquila teach him? Acts 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. 26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. Question 16 Jesus said ye must be born of water and Spirit. What did He mean water and Spirit? John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Question 17 Jesus said, I am with you always. In another place He said, me ye have not always. How can this be? Matthew 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. John 12: 8 For the poor always ye have with you; but me ye have not always. Question 18 Jesus breathed on His disciples and said receive the Holy Ghost. Later Jesus said go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Holy Ghost. Where did they receive the Spirit and why did Jesus breath on them? John 20:22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Acts 1:4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Question 19 Paul said about Jesus, “Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee”. What day was this referring to? Acts 13:33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. Question 20 Ananias said to Paul (he was than Saul)Arise, be baptized and wash away thy sins. What did he mean wash away thy sins? Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. |
