| MANY VOICES There are many voices in the world today. You see people marching on the street, holding signs that say “Abortion is good” or “ We are gay and proud of it”. PREACHERS We can listen to preachers on Christian radio and television stations all day long. One says, “ Do it this way”, another says, “No, no. He has it wrong. Do it this way“. We even hear of some religious groups in other countries killing innocent people and saying that it is right and good to do so. HEAD’S SPINNING After awhile, our heads are spinning, and we ask, “ Just who is right? Where do I go to find real truth?” GOD KNOWS When you are watching a parade, you can see only what is directly in front of you, or a little to the left and right, but someone above the parade in a helicopter looking down can see the whole parade from the beginning to the end. This is how God sees everything; the end from the beginning. We only see the moment, but God sees to the end of time and beyond. THE ANSWER The answer is very simple; God knows everything, so we go to Him to find the truth. He can’t lie, so what He says can be only truth. You will probably say “Yeah, right. Who can get answers from God?” GOING TO GOD Good news friend! The Bible tells us how to get answers from God! Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. 1. We must believe that God exists. 2. We must believe that He will answer us if we put effort into seeking Him. Matthew 7:8 For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, it shall be opened. This is for everyone. God has given us His promise, and He can’t lie, sooo..... THE CONDITIONS We must diligently seek Him. That means keeping on until you have your answer. Luke 11:5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves; Luke 11:6 For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him? Luke 11:7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee. Luke 11:8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth. Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. HOW DOES GOD GUIDE? 1. By His word. (“Thy word is truth.”) 2. By listening to someone who knows the truth. 3. By God opening your understanding (Putting it in your mind) Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, He will give you a personal experience with Him. He will help you avoid things that are wrong. TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE Some will say, “I don’t want to know what the Bible teaches, because then I will have to obey it”. Would you say “ If I don’t learn the traffic laws, then I can drive without obeying them?” You surely wouldn’t have a very pleasant driving experience! HOW WILL I KNOW? How will you know when you have found truth? Have you ever bought a product that came in pieces and had to assemble it? Did you at first try to put it together without reading the instructions? (I won’t ask how it went!) WHAT A DIFFERENCE! After much frustration, you finally read the instructions. Then you found out the names of all the pieces and how they went together. You found the right way to proceed. IT WORKS! It is the same way when God guides you. Things begin to go together in your life in a much better way. Matters didn’t work out so good when you tried to do it on your own, but now, as you look to God for guidance, life begins to get better and clearer. You know you have found the truth. (I am not saying things always go the way we want them to, however!) Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. NOT WANTED Why don’t most people want truth? Did you ever say that you didn’t like a certain food but had never even tasted it? Later, you tried it, and found that you really did like it. Many people have very negative thoughts toward God and the Bible. Try God and His Word! See how great it is! Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. PUMPKIN PIE If I tell you how good pumpkin pie is, but you know I very seldom eat it even when given the opportunity, you probably would not believe me enough to try it for yourself. But if you knew I ate it every chance I got, with a big grin on my face and an “Mm-mmm! That‘s good!”, you would probably try it just to see what you were missing. THE HAPPY CUSTOMER Nothing sells a product like people who buy a product and are very happy with it; they tell their friends. TRUE STORIES Read the life stories of Ralph, Bill, Robin, and others on this website. They are people who have found truth, put it to work in their lives, and are very happy with it. You should see them in church praising and thanking God for showing them truth! PROOF The greatest proof that the Bible is true, is that it works. Our country is strong because of good laws; because it is founded on the principles found in the Bible. Millions have found the truth that changes lives. You can, too. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. |
