Vin recently bought the Granite Gear Nimbus Ozone pack. This is a light weight pack that received Backpacker Magazine's 2003 Editor's Choice award. Granite Gear reports that the Ozone weighs less than 3 pounds and can carry up to 40 pounds in its 3800 cubic inches. While Vin has not yet had the chance to fully test this pack on the trail, he has found it to be comfortable on shorter hikes, and is happy with it thus far. One potential problem he is worried about in the future is its lack of external pockets.
