The town proper of Pithoragarh popularly called the Soar valley is in the center of four hills Chandak, Dhwaj, Kundar and Thal Kedar, and stretches in the sourthern floank to JhulaGhat demarcated by the river adjoining the barron peaks of Nepal Hills, at a height of 1645 meters.
