USS SENTINEL RETURNS TO SB99 AFTER ATTEMPTED TAKEOVER BY CREW OF 2000 Y/O VULCAN SLEEPER SHIP GOES BANG

The USS Sentinel has returned to Starbase 99 to allow its crew some R&R after the Sentinel's first mission was a near disaster.

Almost a week after she was deployed on Patrol, the Sentinel, under command of Captain Phelan Ward who was recently promoted to Commodore, encountered a 2000 year old Vulcan sleeper ship. The Starfleet crew were not the only ones interested in the vessel, as a Ferengi Marauder decided to invoke 'Salvage rights.

Contact was made with the Ferengi, but a peaceful soloution was not to be, The Ferengi beamed over an explosive device, endangering the Away Team, and the Vulcan Colonists. Fortunatly, the Sentinel's transporters were rigged for mass transportation of the Vulcans, who were still asleep in their Stasis Chambers. The Device destroyed the Vulcan Vessel, but not befor the sleeping inhabitants and the Away Team from the Sentinel were evacuated. Not long after being beamed onboard, three of the Vulcans awoke. It was discovered that these were a splinter group, not unlike the Romulans's. The Sentinel's Security forces, lead by Lt. Kempala Hurak, made contact with the Vulcans, and welcomed the onboard the ship as guests.

Almost as soon as the Vulcans were discovered to be awake, Betazoids and other telepathically sensitive species onboard the Sentinel began to experience empathic discomfort. This was later to be found to be Vulcan Telepathic assault. The true intentions of the Vulcans became clear as they attempted to take over the ship, by controlling the Captain via telepathic responses. Not long after, it was discovered that the Vulcans, who were from a time of Surak, when the IDIC beliefs were becoming popular, and Logic was preferred over emotionalism, Were attempting to forcibly colonise Canterra 2, by estorying the current inhabitants, and taking over the planet. The Sentinel's Marines, led by 1st Lt. Joe Pike, and Security forces, led by Lt Hurak, attempted to return the Vulcan colonists, who had been awoken by their compatriots, to the Cargobays, where they were held. Meanwhile, Dr. Sam Coyote, CMO, was working on a way to inhibit the Vulcan's telepathic abilities, she used a variation of Bendii Symdrome, which brought on Ponn Far in Vulcans.

She was taken prisoner by the Vulcans, but managed to infect them with the Bendii, allowing the Sentinel's Security chief to rescue her, and then go after the escaping Leader. Hurak and Commander Ravel, XO of the Sentinel, then confronted the Vulcan leader, S'Orel, and after a brief altercation, S'Orel was subdued, and returned to his stasis chamber with his people in the Cargo bay. The Guests were then handed back to the Vulcan High Command, and the Sentinel returned to Starbase 99.

Prelude To Mission 2

A plague strikes the fourth planet of the Epsilon Hydrae star system. The USS Sentinel was dispatched to aid in keeping order, and to find a cure. Upon arrival, the Sentinel's Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Samantha Coytoe correctly guesses that the plague was the product of a biogenic weapon. A cure is later developed by Dr. Coytoe.

TF93 Joint Mission 1/03

Grappling With The Gorn. The USS Sentinel, along with other vessels from Task Force 93, were dispatched to the Cestus Star System to defend it from a Gorn incursion. During the openning phase of the battle, the USS Sentinel engaged a Gorn Dreadnought (GCS Claw), and two Gorn Cruisers in an Ort Cloud. During the initial firefight, one Gorn Cruiser was destroyed while the dreadnought and other cruiser sustained heavy damage. The heavily damaged Sentinel, along with the USS Denmark and the Night Hawk fighter squadron, destroyed the dreadnought and the other cruiser. The USS Sentinel sustained damage, including three hull breaches, the destruction of her ventral phaser array, and the depletion of her torpedoes. After this firefight, the Sentinel withdrew to her new command base at Union Colony.

The Looking Glass, v 2.0

The USS Sentinel is sent into the Gamma Quadrant to Search and Rescue the research vessel USS Looking Glass. Unknown to the Sentinel crew, the Looking Glass was a rogue Star Fleet intelligence vessel on a spy mission in Dominion Territory. The Looking Glass was also armed with a Genesis Device. Its intention was to destroy the homeworld of the Founders, and start a new War. A portion of the Looking Glass crew, led by Lieutenant Slade, turned on their Commander, resulting in the destruction of the Looking Glass. Most of the Looking Glass crew, however, were successfully rescued.

Dancing With The Syndicate

Orion Pirates discover the presence of left over Dominion Biogenic Weapons. So does the crew of the USS Sentinel. The race is on between the Orions and the Sentinel to find the weapons. The race almost becomes a tie as the Orions and the Sentinel arrive to the hidden weapons at the same time, in Krazzle claimed territory. The final hours of the mission dealt with the Sentinel engaged in combat with the Orion, and the Krazzle as they destroyed the biogenic weapons.

First Contact/Last Contact

On Star Date 57138.5, the USS Sentinel entered the Delta Chi Star System to open trade negotiations with the Delta Quadrant race known as the Lazareks. Upon entery into the system, the crew of the Sentinel discover that the Lazareks were exterminated by a mechanical race known as the Jamak. The Jamak hate all living things. Soon, the USS sentinel is subjected to a violent attack by the Jamak, sustaining heavy damage, and massive casualties. The Sentinel is rescued by the USS Tornado, USS Shadow, USS Excelsior, and the USS Constitution.

A simple "milkrun". That is what Admiral Janeway assured Admiral Ward when she assigned him a research escort mission in the Alpha Quadrant. Since the Sentinel was still being repaired at Star Base 900, Ward and key members of his crew borrowed the USS Star Fire (Sabre Class), and accompanied the USS Canton near Betazed to test out a slipstream drive. Something went wrong as the Canton disappeared during the test. When the Sentinel crew returned to Betazed to report the Canton's disappearance, everything was different. In fact, there was no Federation. As far as sensors can see, was all Romulan Star Empire. A few clandestine mission on Betazed later, the Knight Rider Spec Ops Team, along with Marines, retrieved historical records. The Romulans WON the Earth Romulan War of the 22nd Century. Before the Battle of Cheron, the Romulans acquired new weapons to defeat the Earth Fleet. These weapons just happened to match the inventory of the missing USS Canton, a Defiant Class starship. The decision was made to go back in time and to make things right again. Battling Romulans from the 22nd Century, the Sentinel crew managed to retrieve the Canton survivors, salvage and or destroy what could not be taken back with them to the 24th Century. The crew of the Sentinel made a safe return to the normal 24th Century.
Infinite Justice

Separatists from Rutien IV assassinate half the Federation Counsil in a single bomb blast. Previously, Federation assistance to the Rutien government was strictly medical and humanitarian. Not now. The USS Sentinel is dispatched to Rutien IV to assist the Rutien government to combat the terrorists with all necessary means. Preceeded by a Special Ops Mission, the entire Marine compliment of the USS Sentinel, supported by fighters, makes a daring air assault on the Separatists Base Camp, eliminating the terrorists' ability to teleport to their targets, as well as eliminating a bulk of the rebel force.
