- Comments:Tertius Pisentius Auspex is the father of General Aerus Buridius Auspex, general of the First Legion in the *Classiarius Romanorum* (Roman Navy). General Auspex is regarded as the foremost tactician in all the Empire, and his words carry a great deal of weight in the Senate. It was General Auspex who ordered his son to join Starfleet rather than the *Classiarius Romanorum*, a descision that Tertius lamented at first, but has grown to enjoy his time in Starfleet.
Tertius is the quintessential Roman noble: Dutiful, traditionalistic, sober, hard-working, and militaristic. He is an excellent orator and has a tendency to quote Plato, Socrates, and many other speakers. He is also an accomplished musician, capaple of playing the flute and harp. Tertius is also one of the best chess players in Roma, subordinate only to his father.
Tertius is also highly skilled in tactics and martial arts. He has recieved extensive training with the *gladius*, as well as unarmed fighting styles he learned at the Academy. Tertius was also tutored in military tactics and warfare from his father. The two would spend hours on end discussing various battles in Roman history, and interstellar history, dissecting every last torpedo blast, evasive maneuver, and starship deployment.
When Tertius graduated from Starfleet Academy, he was originally assigned to the USS Ticonderoga, which was lost during the final assault on Cardassia Prime during the end of the Dominion War. His piloting skills helped the smaller Cheyenne-class survive the bloody assault, though much of the crew died in the fighting. Tertius spent a great deal of time recovering from wounds he suffered when a coolant conduit came open onto the bridge and took off most of the flesh from his right side.
Upon his return to active service, after a long and intensive rengeneration and physical therapy program, Tertius was promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade and re-assigned to the USS Sentinel.
