The year is 2382, Starfleet has lost over half of the existing fleet due to various wars and conflicts, as well as normal space mishaps. To correct this during the Dominion war the Achilles-class warship was created and sent out. In 10 years of service she's performed above and beyond the expectations. This, the U.S.S. Excaliber-A was launched 5 years ago. A freak accident left most of the command officers trapped in a alternate plane of existance. However Starfleet can't afford to shelve a ship so a new Captain and crew have been picked and now, her mission is to seek out new life, to assess it's intentions, and to defend to Federation at all costs.
