Jonathon was born in August of 2316 to Alex and Jessica Reynolds. Having a very typical childhood, living in the peacetime following the treaty with the Klingons and the Romulans becoming distinctly intro-verted, Jonathon never had to worry. Peace-time reigned supreme up to and including when he decided to follow in his fathers steps and join Starfleet, first with only the intention of serving a typical Officers term of eight years. He started out as an Envirnomental and Structural Engineer on the USS Alexandretta and was quickly promoted to Lieutenant junior grade and reassigned to the Security Department of the ship and made Assistant Department Head. After nearly three years in this role, he was again promoted to Lieutenant and made Chief Security Officer after the untimely death of his superior officer. He served in this capacity for another two years.
Upon completion of that tour, he was reassigned to another vessel, the USS Gambian and assigned again as Chief Security Officer, but this time, he was also given the duties of Second Officer. Shortly after his second tour began, an attempted mutiny was staged, where the Executive Officer at the time tried to wrestle control from the Commanding Officer. Jonathon sided with the Captain of the USS Gambian and eventually regained control of the ship, but not before a many good man and woman perished in the fight on both sides. Due to his committment and dedication to ship and company, he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander and made Executive Officer.
Only six months into this assignment, the ship was called to Setlik III. During this mission, Lieutenant Commander Reynolds was seriously wounded, nearly losing his left leg during the attempt to stop the now-famous Setlik III Massacre. Due to radical and immediate help from the ship's Chief Medical Officer was his leg saved. He served on the USS Gambian for another four years, eventually gaining the rank of Commander.
Commander Reynolds was transferred to the USS Hood as Executive Officer during some of the darkest days of the Federation, and of Starfleet. The Borg. The Crystalline Entity. The new Romulan threat, even during the beginning of the reign of the Marquis. Never before had Starfleet been faced with so many threats in so little time and in such force. It held true then as it does now: Without the undying loyalty, support, devotion to duty, self and Fleet, Starfleet and the Federation could have easily been swept away into the midst of obscurity.
During the Dominion War, Jonathon was a starship Captain, serving as Commanding Officer of the USS Reagan. It was during his first tour there that he recieved his second and final brush with death. Dominion forces struck fiercly at the Fleet the USS Reagan was part of, and only by sheer luck did the Fleet survive the day. During the engagement, the USS Reagan found herself isolated from the rest of the Fleet, her wingman being destroyed in some particularly heavy battles. The ship was hit directly in the Bridge module, blowing a hole in the ceiling. A support beam came crashing down after the Emergency Force Field activated, just grazing Captain Reynolds as he was standing up, cutting a huge gash in his forehead, nearly taking out his eye. He served three more tours on the ship before he was promoted to Rear Admiral and made Academy Commandant, of which he served one tour, bringing Raptor Fleet Academy online for the first time in Fleet history. Many of the lessons and status-quo still observed at the Academy were ushered in by his foresight and knowledge of Starship Operations and Fundamentals.
Upon his completion as Academy Commandant, he was transferred over to Fleet Staff At-Large, a position created specifically to be a bridge between Fleet Admiralty and the Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers within the Fleet. The position was brand new when he filled the slot and likewise, the procedures and status-quo observed were directly written and executed by him. Like the Academy Commandant position, he served in this capacity for one tour.
Rear Admiral Reynolds was again promoted to his current rank of Vice Admiral and made Chief, Office of Personnel Affairs after his predecessor, Vice Admiral Lenzia Pax, went missing. To date, she has not been found. It was during the tour in this office many of the awards and promotions systems was overhauled, redesigned and implimented. Additionally, this was a time when many of the policies directly relating to fleet personnel were changed, redivised and reimplimented, making fleet personnel life and their career in Starfleet that much easier.
Once his tour was up in that office, Jonathon took an extended leave and spent some time on Earth, a planet he had not visited since he was a Lieutenant Commander. It was refreshing, to say the least. During my leave, he heard a rumor that Raptor Fleet had been overhauled yet again, and his curiosity getting the best of him, he investigated. Vice Admiral Reynolds talked with Fleet Admiral St. James, and before he knew it, he had been officer Adjutant Fleet Commander, or Second in Command of the entire Fleet. Jonathon now serves with a renewed sense of dedication to duty, to the people serving under him and to the Fleet as a whole.
