The
USS Tranquility is a chapter of STARFLEET COMMAND, a international non-profit
group of Star Trek, Sci Fi, and Space Enthusiasts. As much as we would
like, we cannot provide you with a deck beneath your feet or the vacuum
of space, but, we can give you a forum for the free, unencumbered
exchange
of ideas, and views. We also promote the Star Trek philosophy, fostering
an understanding of Science Fiction and the need for peaceful space exploration.
We
bring together Sci-Fi and Star Trek Fans to develop friendships and promote
charity work. Star Trek has always been about helping others and promoting
good will, likewise, the crew of the Tranquility strives to find ways to
give to the community through charity work and donations. We are so much
more than just a fan club. You and I can help show the world just how much
Star Trek Fans care about our communities as well as our future.
The
USS Tranquility is a Franklin class Starship, which was dedicated to Dr.
Stephen Franklin of Babylon 5 Station (Played By Richard Biggs, who was
born on Mar 18, 1960. He left us much too early on May 22, 2004). This
class of Cruiser is a Multiple Role vessel, with the ability to adapt to
certain
situations
with ease.
The
Franklin Class Multiple Role Cruiser can be set-up or converted quickly
into the following types: Medical, Escort, Interceptor, Scout, Border Patrol,
Interdiction, Destroyer, and Light Cruiser Vessels or as a Troop, Diplomatic
or Personnel Transport.
Franklin
Class Cruisers are one of the newest classes produced by the Pirate Republic
and those vessels not being used by the Pirate Republic can be bought by
any faction or group. This vessel design has an excellent balance of offensive
capabilities and defensive systems in conjunction with a sleek
low
profile design which makes it harder for enemy vessels to target this class.
