Marine Corps Duties

Detachment Commander: The Detachment Commander is responsible for all the Marine personnel assigned to the ship/facility. He/she is in required to take command of any special ground operations and lease such actions with security. He/she also is a department head and a member of the Senior Staff. The Marines could be called the 24th century Commandos.

Detachment Deputy Commander: The Assistant, works like any Asst. Department head, removing some of the work load from the Detachment Commander and if the need arises taking on the role of Detachment Commander. He/she overseas the regular duties of the Marines, from regular drills to equipment training, assignment and supply request to the ship/facilities Materials Officer.

Company Commander: The Company Commander is responsible for all the Marine personnel assigned to his/her company. He/she is in required to take command of any special ground operations and lease such actions with security.

Company Deputy Commander: The Assistant, works like any Asst. Department head, removing some of the work load from the Company Commander and if the need arises taking on the role of Company Commander. He/she overseas the regular duties of the Marines, from regular drills to equipment training, assignment and supply request to the ship/facilities Materials Officer.

Platoon Commander: The Platoon Commander is responsible for all the Marine personnel assigned to his/her platoon. He/she is in required to take command of any special ground operations and lease such actions with security.

Platoon Sergeant: The Assistant, works like any Asst. Department head, removing some of the work load from the Platoon Commander and if the need arises taking on the role of Platoon Commander. He/she overseas the regular duties of the Marines, from regular drills to equipment training, assignment and supply request to the ship/facilities Materials Officer.

Squad Leader: Responsible for the welfare for all Marines NCO's under his/her command in that Squad. Required to lead and command the Squad in and out of Combat. Provide training for the Squad both physically and mentally. Maintain order and discipline. Reports to Platoon Leader. Position requires any Officer rank, or the NCO rate of Sergeant.

Assistant Squad Leader: Asst. to the Squad leader, responsible for overseeing the implementing of orders from the Squad Leader. May be held by any Marine NCO rate.

Marine: Sometimes referred to as the grunt. The backbone of the Marines, the field troops. Required to follow orders, and think oh his/her feet if needed. Answers to the Asst. Squad Leader.

First Sergeant: The First Sergeant is the highest ranked Enlisted marine. He/she is in charge of all of the marine enlisted affairs in the detachment. The First Sergeant can act as a Platoon, Company, or Detachment Commander as needed. The First Sergeant reports to the Marine Detachment Commander.

Marine Fighter Pilot Element Leader: The senior flight officer. He/she is in charge of all things related to the ships Fighter Wing such as been responsible for all the personnel assigned to the department on the ship/facility, and assuring that maintenance work is carried on on the craft by Engineering.The Element Leader answers directly to the Detachment Commander and Detachment Deputy Commander.

Assistant Marine Fighter Pilot Element Leader: Assistant to the senior flight officer. He/she is in assists the Element Leader by overseeing all matters, such as personnel, maintenance and acquisition of supplies.The Asst. Element Leader answers directly to the Element Leader.

Fighter Pilot: Specialized pilot, trained in all areas of fighter combat. Also familiar with standard shuttles and runabouts. Answers to Element Leader.
