This was the Romulans key 23rd Century vessel. Small and agile the ship was comparatively weak when compared to other key 23rd century vessels. However the ship was the first to be armed with plasma torpedoes and a cloaking device allowing it to defeat outposts and Starbases. This vessel was eventually replaced when the Romulans and the Klingons allied. The Klingon D7 started to replace it in 2268 and the vessel fell into disuse.
