PSPUG TUTORIAL
CREATING GOLD LETTERING TRANSPERENT GIF'S WITH PAINT SHOP PRO 6

I Started this tutorial by doing a tutorial in screen capture
and It grew from there. I hope you will enjoy it.
To start open new image Width 400 Height 200,
Background Color =Transparent, 16.7 Million Colors
Press OK

Choose Text entry Button
and then click in the middle of the
opened image.
For this exercise I have Chosen Fonts Snell Blk BT, Size72,
Text effect white. Create As =Selection. Click the Bold Button and
the centering button. Then click OK

Your screen should look like this, only showing marching ants outline.

Now for the flood fill Click flood fill button

In tool Options Choose Solid color. This Must be white.

Flood fill inside each letter untill it looks like this.

Keep image selected at all times
Next for the Hot Wax Coating.
From Image Menu Choose Other, then Hot Wax Coating.

Now to add the colour that the hot wax coating has removed. From Colour Menu Choose colorize.
Hue = 35 Saturation =170 Press Ok

Your image should now look like this.

Now to Make Image just the right size.
From Edit menu Choose Copy.

Then From Edit menu Choose Paste, As New Image.

This is the Result an Image that just fits the lettering.

I always save as psp file incase something goes wrong with gif file, then I always have a copy of the original.
Now to convert to transperent gif image.
From File Menu Choose Export, Then Choose Transparent Gif.

Choose Existing image or layer transparency then press OK
Choose name for file and save a .gif image eg. pspug.gif
Now you have a transparent gif to insert onto your Web page.
I hope that you enjoy making gold lettering.
I have had fun expermenting to make it look right.
