For the first dive I decided to use the 18-70 and take some wide angle shots on automatic mode, however my Sea and Sea YS120 was set at half power with the diffuser in place, as I was only too aware that the strobe is actually too powerful for digital photography, and a YS90 is on the cards.

The first few shots were not that fantastic, and with the recent storm viz was not the best ranging from 5-10 meters but the auto focus on wide angle was fairly okay, but the best shots are always macro, unless you come across something big.

We came across this yellow goby with shrimp, and using the maximum focal length hammered off several shots attempting to capture the shrimp as well as the goby, but without aperture control I seemed to be washing out all the shots despite moving the strobe as far as possible from the subjects.

As we moved around the outer part of the reef there were many goatfish foraging in the sand with opportunistic wrasse waiting to grab something circling around.
