The Starfleet Marine Corps has served as the fast attack forces for Starfleet since its inception. Recently, it came under the command of the noted Admiral Tokugawa Kiyoshi, which caused a great deal of uproar but quieted down quickly. The highest-ranked Marine officers under Tokugawa's command are Mecco, one of few Bolians to join the SFMC, and the only one to become a general...and also a critic of a Fleeter in the CO's job, but not vocally; Dominion War hero Jonathan Ross, formerly one of the more vocal critics to the appointment of "an admiral to do a general's job", as he put it; and Hayden Gaestel, the commander of the Marine Academy. Out of the three, only Ross remains an active field commander.
