STTS: Major Players

In February 2391, after six months of endless, bloody conflict, the Strogg War was officially over. Billions in the United Federation of Planets and allied nations were killed by constant fighting. The Imperial Union has collapsed due to the increasing xenophobia of Klingon Emperor Toval, who believed himself to be Kahless - the closest approximation to a god the Klingon have, since the Klingons claim they killed their gods long ago. Toval's assassination on February 17, 2391, was heralded as a blessing by the Federation and the Reydovan Empire, marking a new beginning in their relations with the Klingons. Though the Union is no more, three nations - the Federation, the Reydovan Empire and the Interstellar Alliance - continue their cordial relations, and wish to open negotiations with the Klingon and Romulan empires.

These are the men who will lead the peace...

In the United Federation of Planets:

Herbert Cassius McWarren, III, Admiral (reserve), seventy-five. President of the United Federation of Planets. More akin to energy than matter, McWarren is the Federation's charismatic and eccentric leader. Considered dangerously reckless and prone to extreme temper, McWarren served through the ranks until he became Commander-in-Chief of Starfleet during the Strogg War. At the urging of his friend Joshua Underwood, McWarren ran for the Presidency and won in November 2390. He remains more of a soldier than a politician, preferring to be out exploring or fighting the Federation's enemies than being chained in the Oval Office of the White House. (Portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger)

Syke Matrix, Flag Admiral, age unknown. Commander-in-Chief, succeeding Josh K.H. Petrich. Gave exemplary service as Chief of Military Operations under Flag Admiral McWarren. Served for four months as Deputy C-in-C for Flag Admiral Petrich following McWarren's election to the Presidency. Assumed full command of Starfleet on February 14, 2391. (Portrayed by Harrison Ford)

Joshua Wardell Underwood, Brigadier Admiral, four hundred three. Deputy Commander-in-Chief. Genetically engineered for longevity, Underwood had served in Starfleet from 2210 to 2276 (when he disappeared). In 2296, he reappeared on Reydovan Prime with Kiran Joshmaul - who became Emperor - and was appointed Joshmaul's Chancellor about twenty-five years later. He served there until he was forced to defect in 2390 when Emperor Joshmaul's dementia consumed him. He returned to Starfleet at the rank he held when he disappeared, rising to the rank of Fleet Admiral and Chief of Military Operations under Flag Admiral Petrich. On February 14, 2391, he became Deputy C-in-C under Flag Admiral Matrix. (Portrayed by Viggo Mortensen)

Kiran Joshmaul, Fleet Admiral, four hundred thirty. Chief of Military Operations under Flag Admiral Matrix. Genetically engineered like Joshua Underwood, Joshmaul had served in Starfleet from 2201 to his disappearance in 2276. Reappeared on Reydovan Prime in 2296, became first Reydovan Emperor. Served until he was killed in October 2390. Cloned in November of that year, returned to Starfleet. Briefly returned to the Reydovan Empire for two months, served as Emperor before returning permanently to Starfleet in February 2391. Appointed Chief of Military Operations February 14, 2391. (Portrayed by Brad Dourif)

Jeremiah Robert Neill, Commanding General, seventy-nine. Commander of the Starfleet Marine Corps. Born in the Reydovan Empire, he joined its Marine Corps in 2328. Rising through the ranks, he was chosen to command it in 2376 after gallant action in the Dominion War. With Emperor Joshmaul's dementia on the rise, Neill was forced to defect with Joshua Underwood to the Federation, where he became a Colonel in the SFMC. He rose through the ranks there as well, serving for three months as Commander of Ground Operations at the rank of Major General. Asked to serve as Commanding General Forbrel's XO, and was promoted to Lieutenant General. He became SFMC CO on February 1, 2391. (Portrayed by Stephen Lang)

Kieran Devaneaux, Admiral, twenty-eight. UFP Ambassador to the Reydovan Empire. He spent twelve years time travelling with his father Artimus, before both of them ended up getting stuck in the present. By that time, Kieran had been taught everything he needed to know about Starfleet, and was an admiral by that time. He was appointed Federation Ambassador to the Reydovan Empire by Fleet Admiral Joshua Underwood when it was rebuilt in December 2390. (Portrayed by himself - anime character)

John Harriman, Vice Admiral, thirty-eight. Commandant of Starfleet Academy. Harriman was an undistinguished rookie commander when he assumed command of the Enterprise-B in 2293. After the disasterous Nexus mission, he was left on patrol duties until he was sucked into the Duplex Paradox and crashed into Joshua Underwood's flagship. Enraged, Underwood sentenced him to six months on Reydovan III. This experience changed Harriman's appearance and mentality, making him appear much older. The experience he also gained from his "meditation" on Reydovan III also regained Underwood's respect, and Underwood made him a part of his staff. Harriman reassumed command of the Enterprise-B as part of Project ENTERPRISE in 2390-2391. He was appointed Commandant of Starfleet Academy by Brigadier Admiral Underwood on February 15, 2391. (Portrayed by Jurgen Prochnow)

Francis Ramsey, Fleet Captain, sixty-four. Commander of the NGC Expedition scheduled to depart in April 2391. Ramsey was a ballistic missile submarine commander in the 20th century when he retired in 1995. He became a victim of the Duplex Paradox and was brought forward into November 2390. He rose through the ranks of Starfleet, promoted to Vice Admiral before he departed for Andromeda in December 2390. He was forced to turn back on reliable intelligence from Earth claiming that Andromeda had been obliterated. He served during the Chaos War onboard one of the two Fortress Maximus Pathfinder class superexplorer/superbattleships. Due to the amount of admirals in the fleet, Ramsey was demoted to Fleet Captain in March 2391. He was appointed to be the commander of an expedition to an NGC-charted galaxy departing in April 2391. (Portrayed by Gene Hackman)

Kiran Joshmaul, Jr., Captain, forty-six. Starship commander. Kiran Joshmaul's younger son has proven to be as good a military leader as his father and brother, minus some of the psychotic tendencies of his father. Best known for his witty sayings and extraordinary lust for battle, he was first a scientist in the Reydovan Empire during his father's rule. He accompanied his brother, Crown Prince Azrael, on the Andromeda Expedition at the end of 2390, and commanded one of the scout ships on the Mothership Pride of Reydovan. When the Expedition was forced to turn back, he retired from service until he was commissioned as a Captain in Starfleet by Admiral Kieran Devaneaux on March 6, 2391. (Portrayed by Bruce Campbell)

In the Reydovan Empire:

Azrael Joshmaul, Reydovan Emperor, seventy-four. Ruler of the Reydovan Empire. Azrael served as an Admiral in the Imperial Navy under Chancellor Joshua Underwood from 2334 to 2390. Despite his youth and royal status, Azrael was an efficient commander who asked much of his men and of himself in battle. He led attacks against Separatists, Strogg and Chaos cultists in 2390-2391, and became Emperor following the abdication of his father, Kiran Joshmaul I, on January 30, 2391. (Portrayed by Sean Bean)

Daniel James Longstreet, Grand Admiral, one hundred ninety-five. Chancellor of the Empire and Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Navy. A descendant of James Longstreet, a Confederate General in the American Civil War on Earth, Longstreet is an Immortal - humans possessing rare genetics which allow them to live until they are decapitated in sword combat. His soul has been taken by demons, but his body remained intact, which allows him to continue his Immortality. Upon his return to "consciousness", Longstreet was appointed Imperial Chancellor on February 16, 2391. (Portrayed by John Noble)

Celest Devaneaux, Commanding General, twenty-four. Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Army and Imperial Ambassador to the Federation. Young and energetic, Celest is one of the best commanders in the Reydovan Empire. She married Kieran Devaneaux on October 16, 2390, and bore him a son, which she named Artimus after Kieran's father. She assumed command of the Imperial Army after Emperor Joshmaul I abdicated on January 30, 2391. (Portrayed by PSO World's female Ranger - for the moment)

Joshua Wardell Underwood III, Sky Marshal, twenty-seven. Commander of the Imperial Fighter Corps and grandson of Brigadier Admiral Joshua Underwood of Starfleet. Though seemingly too young to be a general, the younger Underwood possesses a natural leadership ability and knowledge of tactics unseen in someone that young. He is also the Empire's greatest fighter ace. This is no surprise, seeing as his grandfather taught him everything he knows. In addition, the younger Underwood has been described as being somewhat psychotic when flying around in his fighter, which has made his grandfather wonder how he managed to attain the position he holds. (Portrayed by Devon Sawa)

Dietrich Schaeffer, Field Marshal, forty-one. Commander of the Imperial Marine Corps. Schaeffer served as one of then-Field Marshal Jeremiah Neill's staff officers during the Dominion War and the Separatist War. When the Empire was refounded in December 2390, Schaeffer was appointed the Imperial Marine Corps' commanding officer, a position he has held with distinction since his appointment. He often meets with SFMC Commanding General Jeremiah Neill, his predecessor, to discuss ways of rebuilding the RIMC and coordinating joint attacks. (Portrayed by Uwe Ochsenknecht)

Jeremiah Robert Neill, Jr., Rear Admiral, thirty-five. Commander of Chancellor Longstreet's personal squadron. Along with his elder brother Ross, Jeremiah Neill, Jr. entered the Imperial Navy during Underwood's reign as Chancellor. Within the next year, Ross was the commander of the Imperial Navy under Emperor Joshmaul during the reconstruction of the Empire. When Ross was killed during the Chaos War, the younger Neill fought to the death, won victories for his brother, and survived the war to great glory. After the war ended, he received the Order of Reydovan from the new Emperor, Azrael I, and was appointed to command Chancellor Longstreet's personal squadron. (Portrayed by Jeremy London)

Thomas Jonathan Jackson Underwood, Lieutenant Commander, twenty-six. Imperial Navy Exchange Officer, serving in Starfleet. The last surviving son of Brigadier Admiral Joshua Underwood, Thomas (or T.J. as he prefers to be called) is currently serving onboard the fast cruiser Monica Flores as part of the Empire's officer exchange program with Starfleet. T.J. is probably the only one of Underwood's three sons that has a shred of common sense. He and his sister Sarah are Underwood's remaining link to sanity, so to speak. (Portrayed by Jesse Bradford)

In the Klingon Empire:

Chang, Klingon Emperor, ninety. Ruler of the Klingon Empire. Chang is a victim of the Duplex Paradox, somehow brought forward into the future when he was supposedly killed in a dogfight with the Federation starships Enterprise-A and Excelsior during the First Khitomer Accords of 2293. Up until that point, Chang had served in the Klingon Defense Forces when the Empire was ruled by a Chancellor - the Emperor, if there was one, was merely a figurehead. Serving as military advisor under Chancellor Lorak during a war with the Romulans, Chang was appointed as Dean of the KDF Elite Command Academy on Qo'noS, a post he served for several years until he resigned to become Chancellor Gorkon's chief of staff. He was behind the conspiracy to kill Gorkon and sabotage the peace talks between the Empire and the Federation, which went on successfully despite these efforts.

After his experimental Bird of Prey was destroyed over Khitomer, Chang was taken by the Paradox into the future, where he served as a member of the High Council under Emperor Korek and as Chancellor under the megalomaniacal and xenophobic Emperor Toval following Korek's death. Toval, who believed himself to be Kahless - the closest the Klingons had to a god, since they say (with pride) that they killed their gods long ago - was killed in a drunken barfight, which shamed him and his House. It was only the timely ascension of Chang to the Emperor's seat that prevented an outbreak of chaos and anarchy in the Empire. Despite the collapse of the Imperial Union (which consisted of the Klingon and Reydovan empires, the Interstellar Alliance and the Federation), Chang - finally accepting a peace with the Federation, seeing as they have "true warriors" such as Herbert McWarren, Syke Matrix and Joshua Underwood - wishes to maintain good relations with his neighbors, particularly McWarren's Federation and the growing power of the reborn Reydovan Empire under Azrael the First. (Portrayed by Christopher Plummer)

In the Pridelandian Empire:

Petrenka Rafikin, Prince, age unknown. Heir to the Throne of Pridelandia. Prince Petrenka is essentially the equivalent of the Reydovan and Klingon Chancellors, possessing decision making power over his empire but being subservient to the will of the Emperor (or King, in the case of the PLE). Petrenka is the grandson of the well-respected King Simbaka Rafikin, who befriended the crew of the KV SYMATAR long ago. Emperor Azrael, who attended the Prince's wedding to Princess Quarra in February 2391, believes that Petrenka is a little nervous at times, but will be come a great King like his grandfather.

Kr'Mok, Captain, age unknown. Commander of the SYMATAR. Kr'Mok's tale is one that is somewhat long and more than a little tragic. From what little Kiran Joshmaul - who has encountered the SYMATAR several times - has been able to tell, the Kr'Mok he knows is not from the same timeline as the one he's in now. Kr'Mok feels somewhat torn between the friendships he has made here in this timeline, and the existence of the "real" Kr'Mok in the same timeline. Joshmaul has urged Kr'Mok to stay, as has Kr'Mok's son K'lar, but Kr'Mok seems determined to let nature take its course.

Lady Symatar, age unknown. Kr'Mok's devoted wife. Symatar is a native of Imura, home to a species that is energy-based and uses extremely potent psionic powers. She is one of few people trusted by Kr'Mok and his crew, and is probably one of the only people trusted by the normally reclusive Kiran Joshmaul. Joshmaul has commented at least once that "Kr'Mok and crew are like bricks, and Lady Symatar is the mortar that holds them together."

The SYMATAR, modified B'rel class Bird of Prey, age unknown. The vessel commanded by Kr'Mok, named for his wife. The SYMATAR is its own entity in essence, a highly advanced artificial intelligence developed when Kr'Mok was Chancellor. The SYMATAR, like her crew, is a victim of the Duplex Paradox, only this time it brought them into what feels like another dimension. When he was Reydovan Emperor, Kiran Joshmaul knew that the SYMATAR, despite the fact it was probably at least a hundred years old, was still far ahead in technology. In order to accommodate their occasional visits for repairs and to leave their children in the care of the Empress, Joshmaul ordered a special drydock built to handle the bio-technology on the SYMATAR.
