APC Smart-UPS PowerChute Cable (P/N: 940-0024C) wiring diagram

If you have an APC Smart-UPS but you don't have (or lost) the Smart Signaling cable, then here's a guide on how to build one from cheap components. This cable is a 9-pin serial cable with a male and female end and connects from your UPS to a vacant serial port in your PC. For win98/NT users, you may download the appropriate PowerChute software from APC's website. For Win 2000 and WinXP users, the OS has built-in, but limited support for APC and other UPS. PowerChute for Win2000 and WinXP are also available at APCs website. All PowerChute software are free for download.
