The Library

This part of the north wing has thicker dust and more bookshelves than the rest, but to the untrained eye it appears to be just another section of the Guildhall Arcana. The moment you step over the unmarked boundary, however, you enter the Library, the very heart of the Guildhall. Here amidst the piles of books, scraps of parchment and ancient manuscripts, you may find reviews and essays dealing with fantasy fiction and literature in general, while around the walls are plaques dedicated to various authors of note.

Reviews

At a round table to one side of the library, a small group of scholars sit with a pile of books and parchments, discussing them in hushed voices and scribbling notes as they read. Perhaps if you quietly join them, you may read their reviews of literature, particularly fantasy fiction.

Essays

At a well-lit desk, an ink-smudged scholar of middle years scribbles furiously with quill and parchment, no doubt penning some deep philosophical treatise. You decide not to disturb her, and instead quietly browse the works of other essayists on the nearby shelves. Here you find literary essays and similar works.

Author Profiles

Noticing that one of the portraits hanging on the wall in crooked, you gently right it, only to have it swing back to it crooked position. Shrugging, you leave it as it hangs and inspect the plaque attached. It is a respectful dedication to the author whose likeness hangs in the frame; you notice several other portraits of authors scattered on the walls here and there, each with a profile to match.
