History

Born in Red Bank, New Jersey, Michael K. Gibs is the son of Jack and Jenny Gibs. From an early age, Mike has expressed an interest in the military, especially the Federation Marine Corp. He would often play war with his friends in parks and when playing sports.

After graduating from high school, Mike enlisted in the Marine Corp. and graduated from boot camp in Markston City Mars. He graduated with honours, receiving a physical fitness and marksmanship award.

For three years, mike served with the 21st Marines Expeditionary force based at Marine post 329, close to the Romulan neutral zone. Whilst there, he excelled in squad tactics and working in teams. During his free time, he studied military tactics and history. With the nod from his commanding officer he was sent to Officers training school. (OTS)

Upon graduating from OTS, Mike receive his commission as Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corp. and was transferred under the command of Major Jon Phanan. Major Phanan had just returned from the Andromeda-Cirrus galaxy aboard the USS Leviathan-A, where the vast majority of the Marines serving aboard had perished.

Whilst the USS Leviathan was undergoing repairs, the Major took his new Marines to Marine Post 492 where he put them all through their paces. These exercises allowed Gibs to show his great leadership qualities and led the Major to offer Mike the position of Beta Platoon leader which he accepted.

Personality

Mike Gibs is the complete opposite of Jack Trueman, the Alpha platoon leader. He is more laid back and doesn't make many jokes. He prefers razor-sharp dry wit as opposed to practical jokes or one-liners.

Socially, he is reserved perforating to stay in the background listening and observing others.

Special Ability

Mike is able to absorb and memorise information quickly. He is also an extremely capable tactician and a born leader.

Hobbies

Mike enjoys reading, especially military history of both Earth and other civilisations. He is especially knowledgeable on Klingon history.
