European style sports leathers encounter muddy jeans and assorted nylon jackets. As we pulled up to the pumps at first they stared, then they slowly circled quietly, as would a pack of similar but obviously different species, sniffing, and wondering. After a few moments the questions started coming from both sides. They shipped their bikes via commercial carrier to Denver, then flew in, and were riding

the mountain highways. We had driven all night and rode all day our first day, and faced another all night drive dragging the trailer with six bikes back home. When we told of our route along the Great Divide using dirt and gravel roads, one of the pack said, "Can you do that?" We assured him, "We can, we are and we will!" It is a good memory and shows the diversity of motorcycling.
