Smaller, more-efficient serial device supports
a link distance of up to 50 cm

Measuring 7.0 (W) x 1.6 (H) x 2.8 (D) mm, the
HSDL-3208 IR transceiver is presented as the
smallest low-power serial device of its type
available. Enabling a link distance of up to 50
cm, the device fits into smaller next-generation
3G wireless handset designs.

The transceiver meets the IrDA IrMC version 1.4
specification for low-power serial-infrared data
at speeds from 2.4 to 115 kbits/s as well as IR
Financial Messaging point-and-pay specifications.
Drawing 100 A at standby, it operates with
an input from 2.7 to 3.6 V over a temperature
range from 25 to +85C.
