Jinnah, the Founder of Pakistan: Resource

Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah (1876-1948), the founder of Pakistan is one of the Most intriguing figures in the 20th century History, which is perhaps best summed up in the famous words of the Biographer Stanley Wolpert of UCLA. "For individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three. Hailed as "Great Leader (Quaid-i-Azam) of Pakistan and its first governor-general, Jinnah virtually conjured that country into statehood by the force of his indomitable will. His place of primacy in Pakistan's history looms like a minaret over the achievements of all his contemporaries in the Muslim League." The Purpose of this website is to provide a resource for the students of History especially South Asian History, Pakistani History and the History of the British Empire. This website should not be viewed as a hagiographic representation of a beloved father figure, but rather as a balanced investigation into the life of a man who is 'loved and hated' like no other in the annals of the History of the Subcontinent.
