Much of my life has been lived in conjunction with theatre and film. As a child I wrote and performed with the neighborhood children. Most of my childhood was spent in the various movie houses. As a young minister without parents or grandparents in the craft I turned to my teachers in the cinema to help me learn my craft. George Zucco taught me how to do funerals and Peter Cushing taught me how to be a pastor especially where there is illness and grief calls. Tending to serve churches in poor neighborhoods I brought theatre and even a performing arts school at very little expense because I did most of the work myself from costumes to writing to directing to make-up. Now at last I find myself in the classroom learning how it should have done it all in the first place. I’m loving it ! |
