Platt Ranch Riding Stables

Come on out and saddle up for an "Old West" experience in Fairplay, Colorado.  We offer the best in both horses and terrain, and cater to all levels of riding ability.  No Nose to tail railing, but vast open acres of beautiful scenery.  We specialize in small groups (max 8 riders) so our guests don't get lost in the dust.

Our guest will be riding on the Platt Ranch as well as the Middle Fork Ranch/  Both are working cattle ranches located near historic Fairplay.  The Platt and Middle Fork combined, cover over 10,000 acres of varying terrain including river bottom, pine forest, and aspen groves.  Being a working ranch, our guest may be riding fence, checking cattle and on occasion moving the head to pasture.  Come ride with us and experience a 1/2 day or full day journeying back into the old west.

Type of Rides 

Two-Hour Ride -- An easy ride for the tenderfoot.  Enjoy the scenery along a running river and thought the forest.

Half-day Ride -- We begin by getting to know our horses and then set out on a Colorado experience.  We'll ride the fences and check the livestock while enjoying the views and ever changing terrain.

Full-day Ride -- This ride offers a glimpse of old cowboy tradition.  Stop along the way for a delicious western lunch.
