History
of Eyebright
Eyebright is a small annual plant that can be
found in Britain and Europe. It has deeply cut leaves and blooms from
July to September. It's flowers are white or purple variegated yellow. |
| Since the Middle Ages it has
been used to treat conditions of the eye. Modern herbalists generally
recommend lotions or infusions made from the entire overground portion
of the plant but in the past herbalists such as Culpeper also
recommended taking Eyebright internally to treat problems of the eye. |
