On August 11th I moved back to my parent’s house in NJ where I will be living until I depart the country. On Sept 20th I will be flying to Washington DC where I will have 2 days of orientation and receive a few shots, then it’s off to Tanzania with my class of 40 new Peace Corps volunteers. After arriving in Tanzania I will be going through 3 months of training in its largest city, Dar es Salaam. During the training I will be living with a Tanzanian family, which is supposed to help me learn Swahili a little faster than if I was staying in a hotel with a bunch of Americans. After completing training I will be assigned a post somewhere in Tanzania where I will be a high school math teacher. I’m expected to stay at my post for two years. I’m hoping to have some access to internet over there and plan to use this website to keep my friends and family updated on my life in Africa. When I get a mailing address, I will post it here.
