In the summer of 2001, Christy and I took a spontaneous trip to New England. We discussed the trip over the weekend, and I secured a week off from work on Monday. We left Friday afternoon. We drove through Pennsylvania and New York and did our first hike in Vermont. From Vermont we headed to Maine. Our main goal for the trip was to visit Baxter State Park and climb Mount Katahdin. Read the trip report to find out if we were successful.
We spent several enjoyable days in Maine before heading south. Before we returned home though, we wanted to hike in the Presidential Range in New_Hampshire. We camped in the White Mountains and climbed Mount Jefferson.
