  Science Fiction's Impact

    Science fiction has had a positive impact on the world.  All most everyone has seen some form of Science Fiction.  Science Fiction has had a profound impact on technology and culture.  Some of the advancements that we have made have spawned from the ideas that were provided by science fiction.  Science Fiction takes many forms, but the most common one is the one that is going to be discussed on this web page and that is television.  All most everyone has seen at least one episode of Star Trek.  Star Trek is one of the most influential shows ever.
 


    Star Trek Universe has had a profound impact on our society for example the working together of different cultures, races and sex was first introduced in with the original Star Trek.  And the Star Trek Universe has seen to up hold these ideals.

    Women are equal to men was a new a startling idea, but thanks to Gene Rodenberry women can be seen as equals.  In the 60's this gave women hope.  Star Trek has had some of the strongest women characters ever seen in TV.

    Star Trek also introduced the idea of different races and ethnic backgrounds and sexes working together.  When Star Trek first came out this was a startling idea.  But it is an idea that gave future generations hope.  Hope that there could be a possible future where everyone was treated equally.
