QUICK GUIDE
CONTENTS
1 OPEN
- Place the CD in your CD drive.
- Open Microsoft Excel.
- Open the Equivax spreadsheet by File, Open, choose the CD drive (e.g. D:\), then double click on the Equivax file.

2 SAVE AS
- With the Equivax spreadsheet open choose File, Save As and select My Documents or Desktop for it to be easily accessible.
- The CD can now be removed. Remember to save frequently.

3 NEW HORSE
- To produce another row click on the light blue box titled New Horse or press Ctrl + n.

4 ENTER DATA INTO THE TABLE
- The Tab and Shift + Tab takes you to cells where information can be entered into.
- Type the names in the left-most column, only approximately the first 22 letters will be visible/printed.
- Enter Y in the next column if herpes vaccine is required for this horse.
- Enter the actual dates of previous vaccines in the right-most five columns. Ensure the dates are entered into the correct column.
- If a date is bold and brown, the preceding period was shorter than the recommended period. If a date is bold and red, the preceding period was longer than the recommended period.

5 READ THE TABLE
- The next vaccination needs to be administered between the two dates (inclusive) in the Next Due Between column.
- When the next vaccination is not due Not Due Until dd mmm yy is displayed in the Vaccination Status column.
- If a vaccination is to be given Due Within The Next xx days is visible.
- When the correct period has passed the message reads LATE.
- At the top left of the table is one summary for tetanus and one for flu/herpes, these indicate how many vaccines are currently required and by when.

6 PRINT THE TABLE
- Use Ctrl + t or click on Print Summary Table to print the columns for the horse names, herpes requirement and vaccination status.
- Use Ctrl + p or click on Print Summary Table & Graph to print the summary table and editable graph.
- Click on Ctrl + e or click on Print Entire Table to print all the columns and rows
- Select the cells you wish to print, select File, Print and then click on Print What:- Selection.

7 READ THE GRAPH
- The bar indicates the period that vaccine for that horse is due.
- The bar that ends soonest provides the deadline for the current batch of vaccinations.
- Where a vertical line intersects the most bars indicates the most efficient date for vaccinating.

8 EDIT THE GRAPH
- If the bars become too crowded, increase the height of row 9.
- If a large blank area appears at the top, row 3 can be increased in height. If the top bars are not printed row 3 needs to be shrunk.
- If a large blank area appears at the bottom row 12 can be enlarged. If the bottom bars are not printed row 12 needs to be decreased in height.
- To change the period on the time axis click on the Change Dates button and then use Ctrl + 1 (one). Now select the Scale tab and enter the dates required in the Min and Max boxes.

9 PRINT THE GRAPH
- To print the graph alone click on the Print Graph button or use Ctrl + g.
- To print the graph and the entire / summary table click on the appropriate buttons.
