The green Acura is my car. You are looking at the front garden and door. There's another garden that is behind a white fence to the left of the house.

Mom's Rav4 is parked infront of the garage. Usually it is inside, and mine is outside. You can also see the entrance to the fenced garden and backyard (which contains a wooden patio suitable for summer BBQ parties - although we've never had any! :-) The entrance is the white fence on the left. Note that there is another house behind us (and many others that you can't see here) that look very much like ours. This is a general problem with middle class neighbourhoods in Markham and other cities in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). All the houses in a single development look alike (but may be rotated).

At Pearson International Airport - Toronto.

This picture was taken I recall when we had completed our first landing in Canada, and were on our way back to Cairo to complete the second semester of the year. Hanan was to complete her last semester and graduate later that year.

Thorncliffe Park community in Toronto (East York).

When we first moved to Toronto, we lived in the same building as my uncle Nader and his family. It was in an apartment complex in an area called Thorncliffe park. It was served by 2 bus routes, and had a convenient mall nearby (which was great since we didn't have a car in the first year or so).

St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Church in Toronto

St Mark's is my favourite church in the Toronto area for many reasons that include four very good church Fathers.

Youssef graduated from a Catholic high school called De La Salle in Toronto. Rumored to be the same high school attended by Keanu Reaves! :-)

Canadian Citizenship hearing.

Approx. 4 years after landing in Canada Hanan, Mom, Youssef and I all received our Canadian Citizenship. I am recieving a commemorative citizenship certificate from the judge presiding that day.

Ryerson Profs: Denise Woit and Dave Mason

This picture taken of two of the best Computer Science professors Ryerson has to offer. Dr. Woit and Dr. Mason.

This one was taken in Denise's office. Both professors were instrumental in getting me to graduate school (example: they provided excellent reference letters). Good times! :-)

My friends May and Carla graduated that year with me. Professor Mason (Dave) was our thesis supervisor (and personal friend and mentor).

SunLife internship - last day.

After a year working at SunLife (an insurance company) I decided to call it quits. This was a year that I spent in the midst of my studies at Ryerson. So I graduated a year later than I was scheduled to because of this. But it was a useful year and experience for me. My colleagues gave me roses and a personal organizer as a fairwell gift.
