METHODS FOR
LEARNING
ROBOTICS
ABOUT | IDEAS | MEMBERS | REGISTRATION | RESOURCES | SCRAPBOOK | HOME
THE BASICS To learn basic robotic skills, each member will have access to the Lego MindStorms' Robotics Invention System. Beyond the basics, we will be learning from Internet sites, books and each other.
BOOKS The first book we will be reading is "Robots, Androids and Animatrons" by John Iovine. This is an excellent entry-level book with a companion web site where hard-to-find components can be found at reasonable prices. You can purchase this book here.

Another book that is turning out to be very useful is "Practical Electronics for Inventors" by Paul Scherz. It can be purchased at amazon.com here.

FROM THE INTERNET To learn from the Internet, each club member will need to research robotics web sites and present short reports on each site. Each member will be specializing in one aspect of robotics and will be responsible for keeping the rest of the members up to date on their expertise.
