There was a time when Tsomorri (14,998' or 4573 m) in Ladakh could only be reached after much exertion and days of walking. This is a picture taken in June 1984 of a camp in the Valley of the Pare Chu (in Spiti, H.P.)on the way to Tsomoriri from the south. Today, Karzok close to the NW end of Tsomoriri is just a 160 mins drive away from offices in Nyoma, Ladakh.
