We got to Adora Downs this afternoon, and to get there you drive down this one-lane paved road, pretty much. There are big cabins, with double beds and electric blankets - I don’t think I ever appreciated electric blankets before this. One of the first
things that we did there was go on a hayride, and some people went horseback riding. The hayride took us right through the sunset, which was spectacular.
That night they set a fire in the main lodge, and made us a home-cooked meal. I swear they used pumpkin in everything, but it was delicious. You don‘t realize how much you missed these meals until you get one after eating Subway for the past week. After dinner they hosted a bush dance, where they pretty much had us line dancing. Talk about getting your exercise in! Everyone had a great time between that and round robin ping pong :-) The highlight of the night had to be when they brought out Rosay, the joey that was dropped off to them the week before. She was so cute cuddled up in her blanket.
When we went to leave the next morning, one of the resident kangaroos came up to see us leave. She just sat there while we petted her, although some people learned not to touch her feet…
