ANNE LE BAS - ABOUT ME
I
am a Church of England Priest and have served in three parishes in
Portsmouth Deanery before moving to my current appointment just outside
Sevenoaks. After a first curacy at Alverstoke, I worked as Assistant to
the Rural Dean of Gosport and Deanery Education Worker. This latter
job, which was a one off, five-year, appointment involved being
available to the schools in the Deanery for support and advice. Most of
the material on this website was developed in response to requests for
training and support from schools during this time.
After this I became Priest in Charge of Christ Church, Gosport, and Diocesan Further Education Officer, which involved building and sustaining the Church's work with FE colleges.
Then love struck! Philip Le Bas appeared in my life. We were married on August 21st 2004, at Christ Church, and I moved to Sevenoaks in Kent, where he teaches Physics. I am now Priest in Charge of St Peter and St Paul,
Seal, a parish on the edge of Sevenoaks in Kent (South East corner of
England)
I have two children from my first marriage. Michael is studying for an MSc in Citizenship and Democracy at Southampton University.
Ruth,
is at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, reading English
Literature and Philosophy. (Her webiste was built when she was on her
gap year working in an orphanage in Peru.)
Pickles, the cat, completes the family - and is more trouble than all the rest put together.
I am a keen gardener in my spare time, and I also have a great love for storytelling.
Work with
children and young people has been a large part of my ministry so far.
It had to be , because it was the only way of justifying spending so
much time playing and so much money on children's books once my own
children had grown out of such things! Chronologically I am ....years
old (old enough to know better), but inside I am about eight and a half!
