Battling Glioblastoma by Controlling Cholesterol Levels
Mood:  surprised

If you have a GBM, why not cut down on your Cholesterol intake? You might be feeding the GBM! Interesting article:

Clinical trial that we tried to get Dad on is doing very well.
Topic: Clinical Trials

They just announced that 11 of the 16 patients were still alive 32 months after the trial started, back in Nov-2006. This is the study I was trying to get my Dad into, but his karnoksky score was too low.

My 5K time is good! fund raising... not so good. Help!

I've been running a 5K every week to try to improve my time from last year and it seems to be helping. But, I'm doing a terrible job of raising money this year! Can you please help? http://events.abc2.org/goto/wjbeaton

I'm asking for Your Support to Find a Cure for Brain Cancer!

2011 is going to be a great year with your help! I am volunteering again in support of an event that helps raise money for brain tumor research (a cause that is personally very important to me). I hope I can count on you to join me in my efforts to reach my goal! Why not make your donation now so you can write it off for 2010?

On Sunday, March 6, 2011, I will be participating in the 2011 Florida Brain Cancer 5k, hosted by Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure (ABC2). As part of this event, we will raise vital monies to fund the most cutting-edge brain cancer research projects. I'm very excited about this. Last year, my university received research money (from our event) to find a cure for Glioblastoma Multiform. http://tinyurl.com/2espqdn

Fighting brain cancer is truly a team effort and by joining me in this mission we can help ABC2 bring together those who care about advancing therapies for patients. The mission is clear to accelerate the development of treatments that will lead to a cure for brain cancer.

In 2011, nearly 200,000 children and adults in the United States will be diagnosed with a primary or metastatic brain tumor. This devastating disease will send a shock wave through the families of those affected and threaten their lives with overwhelming and demoralizing complications. Those directly and indirectly impacted by brain tumors are depending on us and our efforts to help bring hope to their struggle.

Your tax-deductible gift to ABC2 will provide vital funding to researchers who are tirelessly working to put an end to this devastating disease. Every gift makes a difference so please give at whatever level you are able. Every donation counts, even tiny ones. The more donations we get, the harder we can fight to prevent this horrible disease.

Together we can be known as the people responsible for turning this debilitating, and life threatening disease into one that can be easily managed and even cured!

Thank you for your support!
