CLUB OPERATING RULES

1. Open to 2 wheel drive rubber tire tractors. No dual wheel, chains, spikes, or paddle tires.

2. All stock tractors must be stock in appearance; officials must approve minor alterations.

3. Class & pulling position must be attached to tractor. Tractor name needs to be on sign up sheet.

4. Pulling position will be determined by drawing. Must have 3 tractors to make a class.

5. Contestant must pull in position they drew. In case of mechanical breakage which has been confirmed

by track official, contestant may drop to last pulling position.

6. Pulling position can be inverted in any class during drivers meeting.

7. Any parts falling off your tractor during the motion part of your pull will result in DQ.

8. First puller in each class has a repull option. The puller must inform the flagman of his decision

before leaving the sled. After you leave the sled, the pull stands. No repull option in pull off.

9. Sled operator has the option to change the sled in the first 3 attempts. If the sled is changed, the class

will start over with first puller.

10. Each driver has the right to have the sled spotted to a particular location on the starting line. Driver

or crew member is responsible to request the location before the sled is returned to the line.

11. No portion of the tractor shall interfere with sled or chain.

12. Kill switch can be checked anytime before or after you pull.

13. No portion of any tractor may exceed 8 feet forward from the center of the rear wheels. No part may

exceed 6 feet in width.

14. Each tractor may be entered in more than one class but not more than once in the same class.

15. Pull will be measured where forward motion stops or tractor runs out of bounds. If puller fails to

stop after running out of bounds, it will result in DQ.

16. All drivers must attend drivers meeting. Changes may be made during this meeting.

17. All drivers must sign release form before they pull. Sled owner or club will not be responsible for

accidents or damages.

18. All drivers must wear a helmet. Helmet must be fastened.

19. All drivers must wear shirt and shoes.

20. Driver must stay in seat in course of pull and have control of tractor at all times. At least one hand

must be on steering wheel at all times.

21. All tractors must have a secure seat with a back that stands 3 inches above seat surface.

22. Using edge of a fender as a grasp point to obtain "leaning leverage" will result in DQ. Sturdy

handles may be installed for this purpose.

23. The flagman or sled operator has the right to stop any pull in progress for any reason.

24. All pullers must obey the flagman; no puller will be given the green flag until all is clear.

25. Kill switch is required on all tractors other than stock classes. Switch must be easily to hook and kill

engine.

26. All chains and belts must have safety shields all drive shafts must have drive shaft loops.

27. All tractors must be operated in a safe manner at all times, if you are not hooked to sled, just enough

throttle to keep engine running.

28. No tractor is to be left unattended while running, if a tractor is moving with engine running, a driver

must be in the seat that can control the tractor.

29. The decisions of the officials are final. Arguing with the official or any unsportsmanlike behavior

will result in DQ or removal from premises. This is a family oriented activity.

 

Rules for all classes

Sign up. Sign up will start 1 hour before the pull and will stop 15 minutes before the pull starts. If you are signed up in this time frame, you will get points on points pulls. (Exceptions on being late are at the discretion of the officials.

Scales & Weigh in. Tractors can be pushed or drove on to scale. Turn engine off while on scales. Driver must be in seat in a driving position and all proper equipment in place. Tractor and driver will weigh together each time you pull. There will be no tolerance allowed on weight. Weight may be relocated after tractor is hooked to sled. If you are asked to re-weigh after you pull, there will be a 2-pound tolerance allowed at this time.

Flagman. Flagman will have control at all times that you are on the track and of the pull in progress. Failure to obey the flagman will result in DQ. If a mistake is made by the flagman then the pull will be pulled over but always obey the flagman. It is for your safety and the safety of others.

Hitches. Hitch height is 13 inches from the ground to the top of the opening in all classes. Opening in hitch is 1 ˝ inches in diameter. Pulling point is not to be more than 1 inch from the back edge of the hitch. All hitches must be parallel to the ground. Must be stationary. Hitch height will be checked while on scale. Driver must be in seat in a driving position.

Wheelie Bars. All tractors must have wheelie bars or skid pads no higher than 5 inches from the ground and extend 5 inches behind a line drawn vertical at the rear face of the tire.

Protest

1. You can protest anything except engine at no cost.

2. Stock class protest fee is $50.00 to pull the head and carburetor only.

3. Motorcycle engine protest fee is $200.00 to pull head to check cc only.

4. Only the top 4 tractors in the class may protest and may only protest above their position.

5. Protest must be made by driver and cash furnished to official before the 2nd puller in the next class completes his pull.

6. Protested tractor can pull in other classes before being checked.

7. Engine will be checked in a confined area by one official and tech personnel. Tear down is by owner, owner’s mechanic, or track tech personnel. Track tech personnel are not responsible or required to put engine back together. This will be done at the conclusion of the pull. No other individual will be allowed in the protest area. This will be done in an area determined by officials.

8. No money or trophies will be given out in protested class until protest is resolved. If tractor is involved in another class, both classes will be held until protest is resolved.

9. Tractor may be allowed to jump to another class with approval from officials if protested.

10. Before the track official will come and tell you your engine has been protested, he will make sure of finishing position and that the money has been collected.

11. If you are protested, you will have only 2 options to request to tear down:

Yes: If engine is found to be legal, puller gets the protest fee plus winnings they are entitled to in that class. If engine is found illegal, tractor is DQ and loses all points. Protester will be given their money back. Tractor will be allowed to jump to another class but will have to prove legal before pulling in protested class.

No: Puller will be considered illegal, is DQ and loses all points. Protester will be given their money back. Puller will have to prove engine is legal before pulling in class again.

Class rules

All Stock classes

1. Kids Stock weight limit: 700 lbs. 14 years and younger in age.

2. Light Stock weight limit: 900 lbs.

3. Heavy Stock weight limit: 1050 lbs.

4. Rpm limit imposed on the 4000 rpm limit class. All others classes are unlimited.

5. 26x12x12 tires max. (cut or pulling tires are allowed)

6. Prefer pump gas, no nitro methane in crankcase

7. Canister type coils only. No hot coils, no high performance alterations.

8. Water cooled engines and overhead valves permitted.

9. No horizontal exhaust unless it has a muffler.

10. Prefer mower deck to be removed.

11. Stock garden tractors with minor alterations.

12. Must have stock block. NO GRINDING, NO WELDING.

13. Can bore .030 over stock.

14. Piston must meet OEM dimensions and specifications.

15. Stock rod length.

16. Stock crankshaft stroke must be maintained (Steel crank ok)

17. Stock valves.

18. Can run cheater grind cam. .330 maximum lift at 0 lash.

19. Head gasket - must be a composite gasket. (No copper gasket)

20. Head - stock head may be surfaced but no recutting allowed in the valve relief area. Overhead valves must be stock.

21. Stock deck height with the exception of heavy stock, then no more than .020 piston pop up.

22. Choke can be removed. You can de-bur ports (NO POLISHING). No intake standoffs.

Super stock classes

1. Must be single cylinder, air cooled 4 cycle, flat head, 2 valves on the same side of the engine.

2. All drive belts must be covered on the top 180 degrees, all clutches and flywheels, 360 degrees with 1/8 inch steel or 3/16 aluminum.

3. Any type of naturally aspirated induction is permitted.

4. Must run alcohol or gas. No pressurized fuel tanks. No nitrous oxide.

5. 30.5 cubic inches and 1000 lbs.

6. 50.5 cubic inches and 950 lbs.

 

 

 

 

Outlaw classes

1. 4 cylinder motorcycle engine, air or water cooled.

2. No automotive, marine, diesel, or snowmobile engines allowed.

3. Frame is of your choice.

4. Fuel is open. No pressurized fuel tanks, no nitrous oxide.

5. Prefer all tractors to have workable brake.

6. All u-joints must be shielded 360 degrees, must have drive shaft loops. All chains must have safety shields and all tractors must have a safely secured fender that will protect the driver from the tires.

7. All tractors must have a working kill switch.

8. Light outlaw tire size limit: 26x12x12 (can be cut or pulling tires).

9. Heavy outlaw tire size limit: 34x18x15 (can be cut or pulling tires)

Open class

1. Any 4 cylinder engine or multiple combination of engines to total not more than 4 cylinders with no limit on cc.

2. Driver must be at least 15 years of age if driving a tractor built only for this class.

3. Maximum tire size: 34x18x15 (can be cut or pulling tires).

4. All tractors built for this class only must discharge exhaust upwards.

5. All tractors built for this class only must have a working brake.

6. Fuel is open.

7. Turbochargers, superchargers, and blowers are allowed but must comply with the rules of the NGTPA for safety & shielding.

WTGTPA Points Championship

The points championship applies only to the WTGTPA pulls. Make sure your tractor is registered. When you register, you will register by the tractor name. Each time you sign up make sure your tractor name or number is on the sign-up sheet. Points go to the tractor, not the driver. One dollar will be paid each time you hook to the sled per class on every pull during the season. This money will be paid to the points champion in each class at the end of the year.

Based on an example of 15 tractors pulling in a class the points will be awarded as follows:

1st 15 points

2nd 14 points

3rd 13 points

4th 12 points

5th 11 points

This will continue through all places concluding with last place receiving 1 point. Any tractor signed up but unable to make pull will receive 1 point.

Hook fee will be $12.00 per hook. $1.00 out of hook fee will go to the points fund and $1.00 out of fee will go to the operation of the pulls. Payback will be 80% of the remaining $10.00 hook fee and will be awarded to the top 3 pullers and divided in the following manner: 1st 50%, 2nd 30%, 3rd 20%. No refund on hook fee once class has begun. Hook fee for double points pull will be $15.00. $2.00 will go to the points fund & $3.00 will go to the operations of the pulls. Payback for these pulls will be 100%.
