I'm sure you've heard of this place. It has figured prominently in numerous tourist attraction magazines. But in those magazines, it is always portrayed as a busy place overrun by tourists.
I must admit, there are times when that is the way it is, but when the tourists are gone is the most beautiful time in the Smokies. When the air is cool and the sky is clear. Just before the leaves change colors. It feels like a little bit of heaven. |
But it was all worth it, Pigeon Forge is the best vacation spot in the Eastern USA. You can swim, camp, fish, hike in the mountains, shop, eat, enjoy "people watching", or just hang out. A nice long drive through Cades Cove is just the perfect activity on a cool Autumn day. The bears and deer are everywhere. |
