After The War.

        Smith P. Bankhead was assassinated in Memphis in 1866 while practicing his law profession. The murder was never solved.

        William L. Scott practiced law in Memphis and served as Chancellor (Judge) of the Second Chancellery Court of Shelby County. In 1875 he moved to St. Louis to practice law.

        Joseph Phillips tried farming for several years in northern Mississippi. He returned to Nashville to pursue agriculture.

        William Mecklenburg Polk had a lucrative practice as a surgeon in New York City.
