The Wolf and the Indian are much alike with the Indian learning from the Wolf.

The Indian views the Wolf as a teacher, guide and pathfinder.

The Wolf being seen for his strength was
perceived as a medicine animal.

The Wolf hunted for his family and defended his pack against attack.
The Wolf had to be strong for the good of the pack.
The Indian learned from this and
styled his own life style after the Wolf.
As personal medicine he understood the Wolf's
individual qualities and these were also his own,
such as-stamina,the ability to track,
and to go long periods without food.
