My name is Christy. I am a 35 year old
single mother of a 10 year old little girl. The pictures
above are of me and my daughter Gabraell.
Last October I
was laid off from my desktop publishing job with SIEMENS Energy
& Automation. Like most big corporations they suffered
set backs after 9-11 and downsized in numerous areas.
Since this time I have been diligently searching for work.
Three days before the lay off I signed a two year lease on a
home in a more stable neighborhood. That is bittersweet
because it is less rent than the previous place, however I am
locked into two years. I voluntarily gave up my car after 3
months, deciding to use my old heap and save the car
payment.
I was drawing 248
dollars per week in unemployment for 6 months. Then the
state of TN extended unemployment for 3 more consecutive
months. Only after this time period ended was I able to
draw food stamps or get medicaid (TN CARE) for my family (TN
CARE was available to my daughter). I have PCOS,
diabetes, and insulin resistance. This was diagnosed right
before my lay off. I lost my health insurance in January
and this made it nearly impossible to keep my medication up and
myself healthy.
This brings me to the reason I have made this web page. I
read about a lady with very similar circumstances that made a
website asking every visitor to please donate one dollar to
her. She ended up having enough to pay off large credit
card debt as well as keep her afloat for a while. As you
can see from below I have no credit card debt. In fact my
daughter and I have always lived a fairly meager life. I
hope to obtain a job and get back to my career path as soon as
the economy allows!!! Until that time, I will try my hand
at asking for one dollar donations! My bills are posted
below and as you can see some are very close to being cut
off!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. This
isn't a scam, I have my real name up here, and as well if anyone
wishes to pay an entire bill I will gladly give you the
information to pay it directly!!!!! If you request further
information just email me I will be glad to tell you what you
want to know. For those of you that will donate, I give
you my thanks and promise that I will pass on the favor one
day! I realize my circumstances may not sound too bad.
However, think of it in summary form. No work for 10
months; health issues exacerbated by no medical insurance; a car
with no insurance, no muffler and various other problems; panic
attacks brought on my extreme stress and physical despair.
My daughter notices that "mommy is in a bad
mood and mommy doesn't feel good". I am sure that
almost everyone has been in my shoes at least once in their
lifetime. It is a very demeaning and sad place to
be. Can you help?
As well if I can trade work for donations I will be more than glad to. I can
type, create graphics, edit copy, create html documents, simple
animations, data entry, word processing and various other
tasks. I have access to a reliable constant computer, scanner, web cam, digital
camera, printer and cable modem.
